Patna (Press Release) KaiFi Azmi Abadi is one of the poets of the Azmi Abadi school who have left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of poetry lovers with their beautiful poetry and melodious voice. KaiFi Azmi Abadi was not only a popular and renowned poet but also a sincere, kind-hearted, and affable person with a strong sense of humanity. He had a deep affection for everyone, which is why he was loved by all poets and writers. He was a champion of Eastern values.
These views were expressed by scholars at a memorial ceremony and Bazar-e-Sukhan organized by the Urdu Directorate at the auditorium of the Faneeshwar Nath Renu Hindi Bhavan. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Tahir Alam, former Pro-Chancellor of Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, Patna. The welcome address was delivered by S M Parvez Alam, Director of the Urdu Directorate.
In his welcome speech, Director Parvez Alam welcomed all the guests, scholars, and lovers of Urdu language and literature, and journalists. He said that the ceremony was organized to pay tribute to KaiFi Azmi Abadi's services to the language and literature. KaiFi Azmi Abadi was one of the poets of the Azmi Abadi school who had left a deep impact on the hearts and minds of poetry lovers with their beautiful poetry and melodious voice.
KaiFi led a simple life from the beginning. Director Parvez Alam said that KaiFi had a deep and significant relationship with poetry recitals. He participated in local, state, national, and international poetry recitals and gained immense popularity. He said that KaiFi's poetry is notable for its poetic beauty, passion, and contemporary sensibility.
In his presidential address, Professor Tahir Alam praised KaiFi Azmi Abadi's modern and beautiful style. He said that KaiFi was a poet of internal solitude. He was a unique poet who had successfully expressed his inner experiences and social issues in his poetry. The feeling of fragmentation and dispersion is strongly evident in his poetry.
Earlier, Fakhruddin Arifi, a renowned storyteller, critic, and scholar from Patna, presented his paper and discussed his long-standing relationship with KaiFi Azmi Abadi. He said that he had been in touch with KaiFi since he gained consciousness. KaiFi had experimented with various forms of poetry, including quatrains, rubais, songs, dohas, and qasidas, but his ghazals were his masterpiece. KaiFi's voice was melodious and enchanting, and he had won the hearts of people with his magical voice.
Dr. Asim Shahnawaz Shibli, Associate Professor at Maulana Azad College, Kolkata, said in his paper that KaiFi Azmi Abadi's name is prominent among those who have played a significant role in decorating the language of poetry. He has given stability and independence to poetic and literary identity. KaiFi's poetry is simple yet filled with new forms and metaphors.
Dr. Khalida Naz said that KaiFi was a popular and renowned poet, as well as a kind-hearted and affable person. He was famous for his beautiful poetry and melodious voice. His poems are full of passion and contemporary sensibility. KaiFi had tried to internalize external realities in his poetry. He was a conscious person who understood the realities of his time.
Imtiaz Ahmed Karimi, former Chairman of the Bihar Public Service Commission, also expressed his views on KaiFi Azmi Abadi in a very comprehensive and scholarly manner. He said that the new generation should learn from KaiFi's life and see how he established his identity at the global level through his knowledge, language, and poetry while continuing his business and livelihood.
Under the presentation of students, Naghma Parveen, a student of Patna University, and Mohammad Kamil, a student, also presented a brief paper on KaiFi Azmi Abadi. On this occasion, KaiFi Azmi Abadi's son Ahmad Qais and daughter Dr. Zarnigar Yasmin were honored with a shawl.
In the second session of the ceremony, a mushaira was organized under the chairmanship of renowned poet Haleem Sabir from Kolkata and the management of famous poet Asar Faridi. Dr. Farhat Hussain Khushdal, Rees Azam Haideri, Dr. Altaf Amjadi, Muslehuddin Kazim, Israr Alam Saifi, Manwar Rana Danapuri, Awnish Bandhu, Tahsin Rozi, and Anjum Ara presented their poetry and entertained the audience.
In the Bazar-e-Sukhan, Director S M Parvez Alam presented a few couplets of KaiFi Azmi Abadi's famous ghazal as a tribute, which was well-received by the audience. The ceremony was managed by Muhammad Hashim, Urdu Directorate, Patna.
A large number of Urdu lovers, including Professor Ejaz Ali Arshad, Dr. Zarnigar Yasmin, Muhammad Asif, Dr. Sarwar Hussain, Dr. Nasrullah Nastvi, Imtiaz Karimi, Marghoob Asar Fatimi, Niaz Nazar Fatimi, Moin Gradevi, Mumtaz Farukh, Munir Saifi, Dr. Qaiser Zahidi, Syed Parvez Anjum, Asghar Hussain Kamal, Muhammad Arif Ansari, Arshad Raza, Sabir Sohravi, and hundreds of students, scholars, and journalists attended the ceremony.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Shah Alam, Urdu Directorate.
