Patna, 6 April (ABN) Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said on Monday that providing prompt and transparent justice to the common people in land-related matters is the top priority of the government. Mr. Sinha said that regular monitoring of entry and exit, appeal cases, revenue collection, and land bank-related work will further strengthen the administrative system. Emphasis is being laid on speedy disposal of pending cases while fixing the accountability of officers.
He said that new personnel assigned responsibilities due to the strike are also being trained. Instructions are being given to speed up public works and to ensure that no work is affected. The department has clarified that, with the aim of simplification, several important circulars have been issued in the last four months. It has been stated in the letter that during the 'Jan Kalyan Samvad' held in Sarn (Chhapra) on 2 April and in Monghyr on 4 April, it came to light that despite clear instructions, the proposed priority protocol is not being followed in some cases. In light of this, the department has reiterated its directive that applications falling under specific categories should be dealt with on a priority basis. These categories include applicants belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, widows, serving or retired military personnel, security personnel, and central government employees currently posted in other states.
The department has further observed that it is often difficult for individuals from these categories to be present in person on the designated date. Therefore, as deemed necessary, they can be exempted from the requirement of physical presence and instead be allowed to be represented by a representative or legal counsel. The Principal Secretary has directed officials to deal with such applicants with empathy and provide them with necessary cooperation and respect. This will enable the administration to become more accountable and transparent in line with the government's priorities, and ensure that people do not have to make unnecessary rounds for land-related matters.
