Renowned singer Asha Bhosle bid farewell to the world at the age of 92

Renowned singer Asha Bhosle is no longer among us. At the age of 92, she bid farewell to this world. The singer, who cast a spell with her melodious voice in the film world for almost 7 decades, was hospitalized on Saturday (April 11) due to ill health. She was being treated at the Emergency Medical Services Unit of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Fans around the world were praying for her, but on Sunday, the singer bid farewell to the world. Her son Anand Bhosle confirmed the news of her death while talking to reporters.

It is clear that on Saturday, the news of Asha Bhosle's deteriorating health had arrived. The singer's granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had written on Instagram, informing about her health, "Due to severe fatigue and chest infection, she has been hospitalized. We request you to respect our privacy. Her treatment is ongoing, and we hope everything will be fine." After the singer's health deteriorated, a crowd of fans began to gather outside the hospital, as well as outside Asha Bhosle's residence. Everyone had hoped that the singer would recover and return, but the fans' hopes were dashed.

Asha Bhosle's last rites will be performed on Monday (April 13). Her body will be kept at her residence in Lower Parel at 11 am for the last visit. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm at Shivaji Park in Dadar. This is the same place where her sister Lata Mangeshkar's last rites were also performed.

Notably, Asha Bhosle was born on September 8, 1933, into a family associated with music. Her father, Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, was an actor and classical singer. Asha Bhosle was the younger sister of renowned singer Lata Mangeshkar. When Asha Bhosle was just 9 years old, her father had passed away. After that, her family moved from Pune to Kolhapur and then to Mumbai. Following in the footsteps of her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar, she also entered the world of music. Asha Bhosle sang her first song in the Marathi film 'Majha Bal' (1943) - 'Chala Chala Nav Vaala', while her first song in Bollywood was 'Sawan Aaya' in the film 'Chunariya' (1948). This journey of music and songs, which began here, continued for more than 5 decades, and before long, Asha Bhosle became one of the great personalities of Indian music.
