Steady decline in dengue cases in Patna, a positive impact of the Municipal Corporation's vigorous prevention strategy

Patna, Sep 9 (ABN) Patna Municipal Corporation's ongoing intensive campaign to prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases is showing positive results. According to the annual data provided by the health department, there has been a significant decrease in dengue cases in Patna over the past few years. While there were about 8000 dengue cases reported in 2023, the number decreased to about 5000 in 2024 and 1800 in 2025. Whereas, only 178 dengue cases have been reported in Patna till 2 September 2026. In comparison to the year 2023, a decrease of about 79% has been recorded in these cases in 2025. In the year 2022, 6784 cases were recorded, while after an increase in cases in 2023, the cases continued to decrease in 2024 and 2025 as a result of continuous preventive measures taken by the Municipal Corporation and the Health Department. In the year 2026, 178 cases recorded till September 2 also reflect the positive situation in this control direction. To control dengue, special emphasis is being laid by Patna Municipal Corporation not only to eliminate mosquitoes, but also to stop their breeding chain. Under this, along with fogging, anti-larvae spraying is being done on a large scale.
