Samastipur, 27 June (Khorshid Alam). A young man was stabbed to death during a Muharram procession and a clash in the Kalyanpur police station area of the district. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Javed Ansari (22), son of Mohammad Javed, a resident of Baso Devpur Bhatta Chowk Gopalpur Ward No. 9. The incident occurred after a dispute between the deceased and a youth from another party on Friday evening, which led to a clash, spreading fear and panic in the area. As soon as the police received the information, they started an investigation and are conducting raids to arrest the accused. Local residents are outraged, and the administration has taken necessary measures to control the situation. The family of the deceased is in mourning and has demanded strict action against the accused.
Police sources said on Saturday that a Muharram procession was being taken out at Gopalpur Bhatta Chowk on Friday night, during which a dispute arose between Mohammad Javed (22) and some youths over an old rivalry. The dispute escalated, and the accused attacked Mohammad Javed with a knife, resulting in his death on the spot. The accused fled the scene after the incident.
Sources said the body has been sent to Samastipur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The police are conducting raids at possible hideouts to arrest the accused involved in the incident. As a precautionary measure, police forces have been deployed around the scene, and surveillance has been increased.
Another incident occurred in Ramnagar Sari village in the Mathpur police station area, where a clash broke out between two groups during a Muharram procession. The clash quickly turned into a violent fight, leading to tension in the area. In response to the clash, a team of police and administration officials reached the scene, but an angry mob attacked them with sticks, injuring three police personnel who were admitted to Samastipur Sadar Hospital. The injured personnel are undergoing treatment.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, additional police forces have been deployed from various police stations in the district to Ramnagar Sari village. After the deployment of a large number of police personnel, the situation is under control. As a precautionary measure, police forces are continuously deployed in the area, and surveillance has been increased at sensitive points.
District Superintendent of Police Arvind Pratap Singh said that a search is underway for those who attacked the police team. Given the tension in the village, a heavy police force has been deployed to prevent any disturbance to peace and order. He appealed to both parties to maintain peace. After the two incidents, security has been tightened in the Samastipur district. Additional vigilance is being maintained during the remaining Muharram events. The administration is working to prevent any unpleasant incidents and maintain peace and order.
