Strict action will be taken against land mafia and rumour mongers: Vijay Sinha

Munger: Addressing the Land Reform Public Welfare Dialogue held at the Munger Auditorium, Deputy Chief Minister - who also serves as the Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms - Vijay Kumar Sinha stated categorically that the land reform campaign within the state will not be halted under any circumstances. The government will take stringent action against those attempting to create chaos in land disputes, encroachments, and the revenue administration system.

Speaking to the public from the historic land of Munger, he said that land disputes do not merely occur between two individuals, but rather create tension between two families, two villages, and several generations. Consequently, the state government has resolved to resolve land disputes not just on paper, but effectively. He noted that the "Land Reform Public Welfare Dialogue" represents a significant step in this direction, through which the government is directly hearing the complaints of the public. So far, over 15,000 complaints have been received during the public dialogue programs, which have been digitally recorded and are being monitored on a regular basis.

The Deputy Chief Minister explicitly announced that land mafia occupying government land or the land of the poor will not be spared at any cost. Circle officers have been given strict instructions to ensure the registration of legal cases and take appropriate action against those making encroachments. He emphasized that no individual, regardless of their influence, is above the law.

He also issued a stern warning to administrative officials, stating that if any complaints of corruption, negligence, or undue delay in land-related matters are received, strict action will be initiated. Officers who perform their duties honestly will be respected, but there is no place for corruption in the government administration.

Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister clarified that some individuals are attempting to spread false information about a specific case involving his private secretary and a circle officer, whereas the fact is that he was completely unaware of the matter. He said that those trying to mislead the public by fabricating such baseless stories should understand that the state government does not make decisions under external pressure or influence. All decisions are made strictly based on established rules and public interest.

He remarked that trends like strikes and bandhs are symbols of chaos and affect public services. Bihar has moved past the era when developmental activities were hindered due to prolonged strikes and mismanagement. Today, the government's objective is to make the administrative system transparent, accountable, and focused on public welfare.

The Deputy Chief Minister observed that it is time to put an end to the tears in the eyes of people caused by land disputes for years. The government's objective is to establish peace and social harmony in the village and accelerate the pace of development.

He emphasized that if any individual attempts to hinder public work or engage in anti-government activities under the influence of hooliganism or external influence, the government will not hesitate to take strict action.

In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the government is working with full determination to free Bihar from land disputes and anarchy, thereby transforming it into a healthy, prosperous, and self-respecting state. He appealed to the public to cooperate in this land reform campaign, so that a developed and peaceful Bihar can be built for future generations.

On this occasion, Mr. Anil, Principal Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, delivered the inaugural address and praised the Deputy Chief Minister for initiating this public welfare-based program.
