Despite marriage, motherhood and domestic responsibilities, Rehmat-Nisa Rajab continued her journey of education; Memorable scene at Mumbai University function

A special function organized by the Department of Urdu, University of Mumbai, Kalina Campus, at the Marathi Bhasha Bhavan, turned into a memorable scene when Rahmat-Nisa Rajab reached the stage to receive her education certificate with her young daughter in her arms. Her photo with her certificate in one hand and little daughter in her arms attracted the attention of those present at the event. It was not just a scene of a student achieving academic success but also reflected the struggle of a woman who continued her journey of education despite marriage, domestic responsibilities and motherhood. Rehmat-Nisa made it even more memorable by sharing the momentous moment of her success with her daughter.
In the ceremony, the students who got their PhD degrees were felicitated and the students who got their MA and MPhil degrees were also felicitated. Many students came to the event to celebrate their success after years of hard work, but Rehmat Nisa's style was different. She also made her young daughter a part of this happiness. Rahmat-Nisa Rajab got married in 2024 to Afzal Hussain Mansoori, who is associated with clothes and fabric business. According to her, her education was in progress even before marriage and after marriage, her husband and in-laws also encouraged her to complete her education. She says that life priorities changed after marriage, but she did not give up her education. Finding time for studies with household responsibilities was not easy, but family support made the journey relatively easy for him.
Rehmat al-Nisa belongs to a crowded and relatively backward settlement. Pursuing higher education in an environment where daily life issues are a major challenge was not easy, but her parents always encouraged her in the matter of education and gave her the opportunity to move forward. She has served as a teacher on contract basis while also being associated with a night school. Urdu and History have been his teaching subjects. His academic qualifications include D Ed, B Ed and two MA degrees. One of these degrees he obtained through distance mode. Her educational journey is an example that no matter what the circumstances are, if there is determination to move forward, one can reach the destination by adopting different paths of education. The journey of education was in progress when Rehmat-Nisa became a mother. The arrival of a baby girl brought joy to them, but also increased responsibilities. It was a new challenge for her to take care of her daughter on the one hand and the responsibilities of education on the other.
Rahmat al-Nisa says that "Being a mother is not weakness, it is the greatest strength." According to her, if women are clear about their goals and their family supports them, education can be continued along with domestic responsibilities. She believes that there are difficulties at different stages of life, but it is not necessary to completely abandon one's dreams because of these difficulties. About bringing her daughter to the graduation ceremony, Rahmat al-Nisa said that she should not keep her away from her in this important moment of her success. wanted to She wanted her daughter to be a part of this memorable occasion. The young girl may not understand the significance of this scene today, but in the future when she sees this picture of her mother, she will realize that her mother achieved an important educational goal by holding her in her arms.
For Rehmat-Nisa, this photo is not only a memorable moment but also a silent message to her daughter that life's responsibilities do not necessarily hinder the fulfillment of dreams. Despite her academic success, Rehmat-Nisa currently does not intend to take up a job. Her youngest daughter is still very young and she considers her upbringing as her top priority. According to her, the baby girl needs her more at this time, so she is focusing on her care. However, in the future, when the conditions are favorable, she plans to be active again in the field of teaching. Rehmat-e-Nisa's message for women and the new generation is that education should not be abandoned due to difficulties. There may be stages in life when completion of education is delayed or academic or professional journey is stopped for some time due to domestic responsibilities, but the hard work of education is never wasted. If the conditions are favorable, a person can again benefit from his education, experience and skills. Rahmat-Nisa considers the support of parents, husband and in-laws to be important in their success. He says that if the family encourages women's education, its positive effects are not limited to one woman only, but the entire next generation benefits from it. Rehmat Nisa Rajab holding her daughter's certificate on the stage of Mumbai University became a good illustration of this fact. The fruit of years of hard work in one hand and the hope of the future in arms—the scene concludes with the message that marriage and motherhood are new responsibilities of life, but not the end of a woman's dreams.
