A case of alleged sexual exploitation and forced conversion linked to a prominent IT company, TCS, in Nashik has sent shockwaves across the country. The Nashik Road court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the main accused, Nida Khan, making her arrest imminent.
A detailed hearing on Nida Khan's anticipatory bail plea was held in court last week, during which the special public prosecutor and investigating officers presented strong and detailed arguments. The court had reserved its judgment after hearing the arguments, which was pronounced today by Additional Sessions Judge K J Joshi, rejecting Nida Khan's plea.
According to the police, Nida Khan is the mastermind behind the alleged conversion network and is currently absconding. The Nashik police have formed special teams to arrest her and are searching for her at various locations. It is also reported that Nida Khan is pregnant, which was the basis for her appeal for anticipatory bail.
During the court proceedings, the public prosecutor presented severe evidence against Nida Khan and her accomplices. The police alleged that the accused provided the victim with a burqa and a book on Islamic teachings, including information about Prophet Muhammad, with the intention of converting her.
Further investigation has revealed that the accused sent the victim YouTube links, Instagram links, reels, and various videos related to religious teachings. However, the source of this material is still being investigated. The police claim that Nida Khan would occasionally teach the victim about religious teachings, take her to her home, and instruct her on how to pray, wear the hijab, and don a burqa.
Investigating officers told the court that Nida Khan and her accomplices committed the crime in a premeditated conspiracy. Another accused, Danish Shaikh, had taken possession of the victim's educational and other important documents and was attempting to change her name, allegedly with the involvement of a group from Malegaon.
The public prosecutor argued that rejecting Nida Khan's anticipatory bail plea was necessary for a thorough investigation, as there was a possibility of her absconding and tampering with evidence.
The court rejected Nida Khan's anticipatory bail plea after examining all the arguments and evidence, making her arrest possible at any time.
