Emphasis on knowledge, technology, ethics and human values in education is essential
Patna, August 9, 2026: Education Minister Mr. Mithilesh Tiwari said that AI-like technology can never be an alternative to teachers. It will be used to assist teachers, understand the learning needs of children, and make better decisions. Technology will be incorporated only when it reaches children in their own language.
Presiding over the inaugural ceremony of the state-level workshop, Kumthn Camp, at the Convention Hall in the capital on Sunday, Mr. Tiwari said that standard education is our ultimate goal. AI can provide answers in moments, so the biggest challenge for the education system is to ensure that children not only know the answers but also learn to ask the right questions. They should use technology but not become its slaves. The state government is trying to connect children and teachers with technology to enhance their capabilities. Education requires knowledge with technology, ethics with technology, humanity with intelligence, and responsibility with success.
Mr. Tiwari said that Bihar is moving rapidly in the field of digital education. Under PM E-Vidya, curriculum-based educational material and videos have been prepared for classes 1 to 12. Educational material is also being prepared in local languages. Emphasizing the need to ensure the effective use of workbooks, unit tests, and teachers' diaries in schools, he said that this will bring further improvement in the education system.
He said that a transparent and phased transfer system has been implemented for teachers, aiming to facilitate teachers and ensure their availability in schools. Mr. Tiwari said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Choudhary, 551 Saraswati Vidyamandir model schools have been established, and 142 more model schools are forthcoming. These schools have high public expectations, and their quality and educational activities require special attention.
He thanked the honorable Chief Minister for participating in the workshop. Guiding 2 crore students and managing 6 lakh teachers is the responsibility of all of you. Implementing the ideas that emerge during this Chintan Shivir session will lead to real success. He said that integrated software and a command and control center have been strengthened to monitor the attendance of teachers and students in schools. The grievance redressal system is also being strengthened to address the problems of teachers, students, and parents.
The Education Minister appealed to the officers to completely avoid corruption. He said that, inspired by the glorious traditions of Nalanda and Vikramshila, the goal of the Education Department is to make Bihar a major center of knowledge in the country and the world once again. The Education Department should move forward with the mantra of "change through thought and success through determination."
The workshop began with the national anthem and national song. The Chief Minister, Education Minister, and other officials inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp. The Chief Minister inaugurated laboratories established by IIT in 50 schools through the Bihar Education Project and launched two books online. One book, 'Vande Mataram': Sontarta Sangram Ki Aatma Aur Bharat Mata Ki Amar Pukar, was written by the Education Minister himself and published by Prabhat Prakashan. The inaugural ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Bihar song. A total of 322 participants, including all officers of the Administration Sub-Cadre and the Bihar Education Service Research and Training Sub-Cadre, and the principals of DIET, attended the workshop. The workshop will conclude on Monday evening.
