Another important milestone is being achieved in streamlining the traffic and relieving the citizens from the age-old problem of traffic jams in the capital Patna and its surrounding areas. Construction of Railway Over Bridge (ROB) to be constructed at Level Crossing (LC) No. 4 PG SPL on Railway Km 2/25-28 between Patna Junction and Parsa Bazar Railway Stations in Patna District is progressing rapidly towards completion.
Mr. Pankaj Kumar Pal, Secretary, Road Construction Department, said that the very important project being undertaken by Bihar Road Development Corporation Limited is expected to be completed by December 2026. It will then be opened to the public. He explained that the infrastructure of ARB is fully established. The foundation and structure is 100% complete. The superstructure is also progressing rapidly, currently approaching 80 percent completion.
Secretary Mr. Paul informed that the administrative sanction for this project is within the Mithapur-Maholi Road project, which is being implemented by the nationally renowned construction agency, M.S. He informed that the request for power block has been sent to Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Danapur on August 12, 2026 to finalize the construction work. The superstructure and remaining road work will be completed on a war footing after the Railways gets final approval for the block.
According to Secretary Mr. Paul, the opening of this ROB will significantly increase the convenience of the capital city Patna and many surrounding areas and the convenience of millions of people. Commuters traveling to and from the Methapur, Prasa Bazar, Maholi, Punpan, and Gaya-Patna routes will be particularly benefited. The long traffic jam caused by the movement of trains at Level Crossing No. 4 will be permanently removed. This ROB will not only save time and fuel for daily commuters, working people, school children and commercial vehicles, but will also act as a seamless and speedy lifeline for emergency services like ambulances. He said that the completion of this important stretch of Mithapur-Maholi road will increase vehicular traffic on the entire Patna-Panpan corridor, which will boost economic and social activities in the entire region. Additionally, Patna city will get another boost in modern infrastructure.
