Patna, April 17 (ABN) Chief Minister Smarat Choudhary said on Friday that if the Women's Reservation Bill is passed by the Lok Sabha today, April 17 will become a revolutionary day for the women of the country. Chief Minister Choudhary participated in the 'Nari Shakti for Vikas Bharat Run' program organized under the 'Nari Shakti Vandana Campaign' today.
Mr. Choudhary flagged off the participating women at the program held at the Diigha Golamber on the JP Ganga Highway. On this occasion, Mr. Choudhary congratulated and extended good wishes to the organizers of 'Nari Shakti for Vikas Bharat Run'. He said that this is a program of Nari Shakti. Today is going to be a historic day. If the bill to empower women the most after independence is passed by the Lok Sabha today, then today (April 17) will be a revolutionary day for the women of this country.
Mr. Choudhary said that after the passage of this bill, the number of seats in the Lok Sabha will increase from 543 to 816, out of which one-third of the seats will be reserved only for women. He said that by winning elections on one-third of the Lok Sabha seats, not only will the women of this country raise their voices in Parliament, but they will also rule the country.
Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary said that Nari Shakti is moving forward today. He said that in Bihar, Nitish Kumar has given 50% reservation to women in Panchayati Raj institutions and municipal bodies, which has given women a lot of power and they are becoming self-sufficient. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also decided that one-third of the 816 Lok Sabha seats in the country will be won by women, and they will also win one-third of the seats in the assemblies and enter the House. Mr. Choudhary signed the signature campaign being run under the Nari Shakti Vandana Abhiyan and registered his presence. Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary was welcomed by MLA Smt. Srijeshi Singh with a bouquet. All the women participating in the program welcomed Mr. Choudhary by waving their hands.
