US announces continuation of maritime blockade on Iran

Awaz E Bihar•30 April 2026 at 02:30 pm•3 views•2 min read

US President Donald Trump has announced that the naval blockade against Iran will continue until a nuclear deal is reached. According to reports, Trump says the blockade is more effective than bombing and will increase pressure on Iran.
Iran had set the lifting of the US naval blockade as a condition for the resumption of talks, while Tehran had also offered to lift its own restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the end of the US blockade, which was rejected by Washington. The US actions have increased tensions in the region, and oil prices have exceeded $119 per barrel, while gasoline prices in the US have reached $4.22 per gallon.
According to reports, the speaker of the Iranian parliament has accused the US of trying to weaken the country internally and warned that a strong response will be given.
On the other hand, the stalemate between the US and Iran over the nuclear issue continues, with Iran insisting on its right to uranium enrichment, while the US is demanding complete elimination.
It is clear that after the recent ceasefire, talks have taken place between the two countries, but no progress has been made. In such a situation, Russia has also claimed to have proposed various solutions to resolve the conflict.
