'Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal' will end problems of students, bring transparency and accountability in education system: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary today launched the "Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal" at a program held at JD Women's College Auditorium. The Chief Minister interacted with the students of JD Women's College and got information about their educational activities and problems. In his address on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that continuous efforts are being made to make the education system in Bihar more modern, transparent, accountable and student-oriented. "Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal" is an important initiative to ensure timely resolution of student issues. It aims to solve their academic, hostel and other problems and suggestions immediately. The service is completely free and confidential and a helpline number, 1100, is available for information related to Student Sahyog Camp. If action is not initiated on the grievances of the students within 10 days, a notice will be automatically issued by the Chief Minister's Office on the 11th day and redressal will be ensured within a maximum of 30 days. Students can lodge complaints online at any time on the 'Vidyarthi Sahyog Portal'. The applicant will be informed in writing after ensuring their settlement within 30 days from the date of filing the complaint. On the fourth Tuesday of every month, camps will be held in educational institutions, where students can directly share their problems and suggestions. From August 25, a student cooperation campaign will be started in all schools and hostels in Bihar. The Chief Minister said that 96% of the 6.42 lakh applications received through cooperation camps have been resolved. An automated notice system has been implemented to ensure accountability. If no grievance is redressed within 10 days, the first notice is automatically issued on the 11th day, the second on the 20th day and the third notice on the 25th day. If no solution is found within 30 days, action will be taken against the officer/employee concerned. This will strengthen transparency and administrative accountability in the education system. The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is to provide quality education to the students of Bihar in their own state, so that they are not forced to go abroad for better education. For this purpose, the infrastructure of higher education is being expanded. The number of government degree colleges in the state remained limited for a long time after independence but now a big step has been taken towards opening 211 new degree colleges at once. At the same time, opportunities for higher education are being enhanced by the development of degree courses in 342 B.Ed colleges. The Chief Minister said that higher education has been made more affordable for students in Bihar. Initiatives like engineering for Rs 10 and polytechnic education for Rs 5 will provide opportunities for children from economically backward families to advance. About Rs 18,000 crore has been disbursed through the student credit card scheme. Work is also underway to develop model school systems at 551 locations covering 534 blocks and major cities and provide direct teacher support to students for home education. He said that the education and stability of women and girls has an important role in the momentum of Bihar. Anganbari nutrition, clothing and incentive schemes for female students passing matriculation and graduation as well as assistance in preparing for competitive examinations are being provided. 35 percent reservation for women in government jobs and 50 percent in panchayati raj and local bodies has boosted their participation. The Chief Minister said that today Bihar has entered a new era of development and change. From a budget of around Rs 6,000 crore at the time of partition of Jharkhand, the state's budget has now reached Rs 347,000 crore. Bihar is identified not only by its current development but also by the great scholarly tradition of Pataliputra, Nalanda, Vikramsheela, and Acharya Chanakya. By combining this glorious heritage with modern development, Bihar has a major role to play in building a developed India. The Chief Minister said that the positive change in the lives of the students would lay a strong foundation for the prosperity of Bihar and a developed India. The government is determined that no student of Bihar should be left behind due to lack of opportunities and give a new direction to their future as well as the future of the state and the country through education, skills and employment. He said that the students should openly convey their problems and suggestions to the government. Only if the students of Bihar advance, Bihar will be prosperous and the goal of a developed India will be fulfilled.
