Al Jazeera TV has claimed that a breakthrough is possible regarding Iran's nuclear program, as a Pakistani delegation is discussing the nuclear program with Iranian authorities.
According to details, Pakistan has accelerated its diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing war and nuclear dispute between Iran and the US. International sources and Al Jazeera TV have claimed that following the recent talks and the presence of a Pakistani delegation in Tehran, a major "breakthrough" is expected soon on the nuclear program issue.
The head of Pakistan's armed forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, is in Tehran with a high-level delegation. According to Iranian media, he has brought an important and special message from Washington for the Iranian leadership. Upon arrival in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi welcomed him and appreciated Pakistan's role as a mediator in the talks.
The central point of the negotiations is the duration of Iran's suspension of uranium enrichment and its stockpile of 440 kilograms of high-enriched uranium, with the US insisting on 20 years and Iran on five years. However, a "middle way" now seems to be emerging.
Iran's uranium is being considered for transfer to a third country or to be returned to its natural state. US President Donald Trump has expressed optimism about the situation, saying, "The world should be ready for two great days, the war with Iran is about to end."
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leut has also termed Pakistan's mediation as constructive, saying that the next round of talks could take place in Islamabad. While the army chief is in Tehran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is on a tour of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey to address the concerns of potential opponents of the deal, including Israel.
Despite the ceasefire that began on April 8, the US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz remains a major challenge. Iran has threatened to close the trade route in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Oman if the blockade is not lifted.
US news website 'Axios' has quoted US officials as saying that significant progress was made in talks between the two countries on Tuesday. The report states that US Vice President Jay Dee Vines, Steve Toufic, and Jared Kushner have been actively involved in the process, making continuous phone calls and exchanging draft proposals with Iranian authorities and mediators.
US media says these "back-channel" contacts have played a crucial role in bringing the two sides closer, with a US official revealing that some parts of the Iranian government are now in favor of a deal. However, efforts are being made to include all relevant elements and factions of the Iranian government in the agreement to ensure a lasting peace.
This potential progress is being seen as a major step towards ending the ongoing tensions in the region.
At a press conference at the Pentagon, alongside Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dean Ken, US Secretary of War said, "The message for Iran is that we are watching you, and the Iranians should know that there is no match for our capabilities, the US is still as strong as before."
The US Secretary of War said that Iran was told, "We know which military assets you are moving, you must make your decisions wisely, Iran cannot have nuclear weapons under any circumstances, our negotiating team is talking to Iran, and if a deal is not made, our forces are ready for war."
Pat Hegsteth said, "Iran says it controls the Strait of Hormuz, but it has no navy, threatening to target commercial ships is not control, it's piracy."
He said, "Iran's energy industry has not been completely destroyed, exports are being blocked due to the US blockade, we will maintain the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz as long as necessary, the US Navy has control over traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, the US has a powerful navy, Iran does not, I hope you will make a deal that is within your reach."
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dean Ken said, "The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is for all ships entering or leaving Iranian ports, the blockade is enforced in both Iranian territorial waters and international waters, the blockade is for all ships, regardless of their country of origin."
General Dean Ken further said, "The US military is ready for any action against Iran, we will track any ship trying to provide aid to Iran."
