Patna (ABN) Former minister and BJP leader Shreesi Singh condemned the indecent remarks made by MP Pappu Yadav against women in politics and said that Mr. Yadav and the Congress party supporting him should apologize to the women of the country immediately. Ms. Singh said at a press conference held at the state BJP office today that Mr. Yadav's statement reflects his wrong thinking and shows what kind of family upbringing he has had and how he treats the women in his family. She said that Mr. Yadav's wife is also an MP and his daughter may also enter public life in the future. She asked if Mr. Yadav would treat his wife and daughter in the same way. She said that MP Mr. Yadav should apologize publicly for his indecent remarks against women. The former minister of the Bihar government said that Pappu Yadav has the patronage of the Congress party and in this matter, Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi and his MP sister Priyanka Gandhi should also come forward and apologize while condemning Pappu Yadav. In response to a question about whether she had met Chief Minister Sushrat Choudhary, who said that those who misbehave with women will be punished by pulling them out from the underworld, Ms. Shreesi Singh said that she would bring this incident to the knowledge of the Chief Minister and demand action. MLA Sangeeta Kumari termed Pappu Yadav's statement as an attack on the self-respect, dignity, and honor of women. She pointed out that Pappu Yadav's wife is herself an MP. She further said that his mentality is clearly visible. India is a land where women are respected. Then how did Pappu Yadav dare to make such a comment? She demanded clarification from Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi on this matter. She emphasized that Pappu Yadav should apologize for his statement, and further said that the BJP is strongly standing in support of women's dignity and self-respect. During a press conference, MLC Anamika Singh Patel said that considering Pappu Yadav's mentality and the political party under whose patronage he works, his statement is a true reflection of his character, thinking, and ideology. This is the same Congress party during whose tenure lakhs of women were displaced from Kashmir. She clearly stated that it is no surprise that Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Tejashwi Yadav have maintained silence on Pappu Yadav's statement so far. This is the same Tejashwi and the same RJD government during which an IAS officer's wife was raped for years, yet no one uttered a word. She further emphasized that Pappu Yadav's statement was a calculated and thoughtful comment. MLA Mithali Thakur remarked that any woman who achieves success in any field does so only after a long and hard struggle. In such circumstances, if someone comes and objects to a particular profession, the emotional trauma that the woman's parents have to face can be imagined. She said that Pappu Yadav's comment is highly condemnable. By making such a comment, he has not only dragged women but also men into the mud. The women active in politics at present are deeply hurt by this comment. I strongly demand that MP Pappu Yadav apologize publicly.
