Municipal Commissioner Yeshpal Meena conducted a detailed inspection of the Ganga ghats under Patliputra, New Rajdhani, Bankipur, and Azimabad zones on Sunday to review preparations for the Chhath Mahaprov. While reviewing the ongoing work at various ghats, Mr. Meena issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers and engineers.

The Municipal Commissioner inspected a total of 24 Ganga ghats on the spot, including those at Collectorate, Mahendro, TN Banerjee, Mishri, Gandhi, Bardahwa, Chaudhry Tola, Narkat, and Pathri. During the inspection, temporary encroachments were found at several ghats, and instructions were given to remove them immediately and launch special cleaning drives at the relevant locations.

During the inspection, the Municipal Commissioner instructed to complete the painting and plastering work of the permanent toilets and changing rooms at all ghats as soon as possible. Along with this, instructions were also given to expedite the cleaning, painting, plastering, and beautification work of the ghats under the Kaya Kalp Mission, as well as to remove old signboards and install new ones.

Special emphasis was placed on improving the access roads at ghats where the Ganga river water is far away, for the convenience of devotees. The Municipal Commissioner instructed to remove overgrown grass and other obstacles on these roads to ensure proper cleanliness.

Giving top priority to the safety of devotees, the Municipal Commissioner gave clear instructions to all concerned officers and engineers to ensure that all dangerous spots marked on the ghats are barricaded with red cloth.
