Patna: (ABN) The process of realignment within the NDA has begun ahead of the Bihar Legislative Council elections. In the Saran Teacher constituency, the NDA has fielded JD(U) candidate Anand Pushkar. Meanwhile, RLM State General Secretary and State Chief Spokesperson Ram Pkar Sainha are in the race as an independent candidate. On Tuesday, Ram Pkar Sainha filed his nomination from the Saran Teacher constituency. Three RLM MLAs were present at the time of his nomination. They include RLM State President and Deenara MLA Allok Kumar Singh, Madhubani MLA Madhu Anand, and Bajpatti MLA Rameshwar Mahato. All three announced their support for Ram Pkar Sainha.
The support given to independent candidate Ram Pkar Sainha by the three RLM MLAs is considered significant from multiple perspectives, as RLM, the party of Rajya Sabha MP Upinder Kushwaha, is part of the NDA, and the NDA has nominated JD(U)’s Anand Pushkar as its candidate for the Saran Teacher seat.
In this context, the three RLM MLAs standing with Ram Pkar Sainha instead of the NDA candidate indicates internal discord within the party and fuels the fire of rebellion. Although RLM President Upinder Kushwaha has denied any rebellion within the party, he stated that RLM is with the NDA and is supporting the NDA’s official candidates. He further stated that no MLA from his party has rebelled. On the other hand, State President Allok Singh said that all three MLAs are with Ram Pkar Sainha. According to him, Ram Pkar Sainha has been associated with the party for a long time, and his support is being given considering the dignity of the workers. The three MLAs also stated that their support for Ram Pkar Sainha does not mean withdrawing support from the NDA government. It is worth noting that RLM has a total of four MLAs, of whom three are supporting Ram Pkar Sainha, while the fourth MLA is Saniya Lata, wife of Upinder Kushwaha.
In the Saran Teacher seat, besides NDA candidate Anand Pushkar and independent candidate Ram Pkar Sainha, Jan Suraj’s Afaq Ahmed is also in the race. The presence of three RLM MLAs at the time of Ram Pkar Sainha’s nomination has made the contest for this seat even more interesting. In Bihar, voting for the Legislative Council’s Teacher and Graduate seats is scheduled for October 23, and the counting of votes will take place on October 27. In this scenario, the step taken by the three RLM MLAs against the party and Upinder Kushwaha’s denial of any kind of disagreement or rebellion within the party has become a topic of debate in Bihar politics.
