Patna, September 09: (ABN) Final selection of 3637 pilgrims from Bihar has been made for Hajj in 2027. Compared to last year, this time 1111 more people have got the opportunity to go for Hajj. In the year 2026, 2526 pilgrims went for Hajj from the state. Hajj is likely to start from the first week of April next year. However, the flight schedule for the departure of passengers has not been released yet. According to the information received from the Minority Welfare Department, the Hajj pilgrims of Bihar will depart from Gaya Airport along with Patna Airport. Cover numbers have been issued to selected pilgrims. Along with this, the preparations for Hajj pilgrims have also been started. Selected passengers have to submit the first installment of the journey within the stipulated time. Pilgrims will depart from 19 airports in the country. In the year 2027, pilgrims will depart from 19 airports in the country. Apart from Patna and Gaya, these include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Calicut, Kochi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kannur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar and Vijayawada. Flights will be operated from Patna and Gaya Airports for Haj pilgrims from Bihar. Children below 15 years of age will not be allowed to perform Hajj. Along with this, it will be mandatory for pilgrims above 65 years of age to have an attendant. All attendant expenses shall be borne by the passenger concerned. Women can also go for Hajj but their cover must be at least four people. Selected pilgrims will have to deposit Rs.1 lakh 52 thousand 300 as first installment. It also includes a processing charge of Rs 300. Based on the Muslim population, the Central Haj Committee fixes a Haj quota of about 12,000 for Bihar every year. However, Bihar's quota has not been fully filled for the past several years. In the year 2016, the highest number of 6533 pilgrims went for Hajj from Bihar.
