Patna, July 15 (ABN) Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Choudhary today inaugurated educational activities in 211 new degree colleges across the state from Goraadih, a newly established degree college, in Bhagalpur.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that today is a proud day for Bihar. The state government has taken a historic step towards expanding higher education, which will provide students in every block with the opportunity to receive quality education in their own area.
The Chief Minister said that the process of reviving Bihar's glorious educational heritage has begun with the restoration of the ancient Vikramshila University in a new form. For this, the state government has already transferred about 220 acres of land, and the target is to establish Vikramshila University within the next year. He said that the University of Architecture and Civil Engineering will be established in Muzaffarpur and the University of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Science will be established in Bhagalpur. Additionally, four new private universities have been approved in Bihar. He said that education will be the foundation of Bihar's prosperity and will make the state a hub of knowledge and innovation.
The Chief Minister said that the demolished Vikramshila bridge will be fully operational by November 30, providing a significant convenience to millions of people. He said that an industrial zone is being developed in an area of about 400 acres in Bhagalpur. The establishment of industries here will provide employment opportunities to local youth, and they will not need to leave the state for employment. He appealed to people living outside Bihar to return to their state and participate in Bihar's prosperity and development. The state government will provide them with the necessary land, electricity, and water facilities to establish industries.
The Chief Minister said that they are working to fulfill the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a developed India and the dream of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for a prosperous Bihar.
The Chief Minister said that former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has done historic work in promoting women. Under the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme, funds have been transferred to the accounts of 1 crore 81 lakh women so far, and the remaining eligible women will receive the amount by July 25.
The Chief Minister said that rapid development is taking place in the fields of infrastructure and tourism. The construction of the 83 km long Ganga Marine Drive from Munger to Bhagalpur has started, which will become a major attraction in Bihar upon completion. It will be extended to Rajmahal Bridge, and people from outside will also come to see it. A ropeway will be built for the convenience of visitors to the famous religious site Bateshwar Dham temple, located on the banks of the Ganges River near Kahlgaon.
He announced that two airports will be built in the Bhagalpur region, including the proposed airport in SultanGanj. This will promote industry, tourism, and trade in the region. A 2400 MW power plant is being set up in Pirpainti, whose capacity will be increased to 1600 MW. The project will involve an investment of Rs 70,000 crore.
The Chief Minister said that under the Sneh Yug scheme, about 6 lakh applications have been received so far, out of which more than 5 lakh applications have been disposed of. So far, only 4 officers and employees have been given a third notice, which means that officers and employees are resolving public complaints in a timely manner. He said that during the state-level Sneh program held in Patna, 129 applications were received, and 100 people presented their problems before him, which were resolved immediately. The public is the master, we are the servants of the public, and we are engaged in serving the public.
The Chief Minister said that action will be taken against anyone, regardless of caste or class, who commits a crime. The criminal will either have to go to Bhagalpur jail or leave Bihar. There is no place for criminals in Bihar. Fast-track courts are being set up to punish criminals quickly. Preparations are also underway to crack down on cybercrime offenders. Strict action will be taken against those involved in cybercrime.
He said that from August 15, doctors will not be able to refer patients to outside hospitals. Patients will be treated in sub-divisional and district hospitals. Action will be taken against doctors who refer patients unnecessarily.
Before attending the program, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly established government college in Goraadih by unveiling a plaque and commenced teaching. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the newly established Government College Kasila and inquired about the facilities provided. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister visited stalls set up by the Labor Resources and Migrant Workers Welfare Department, Energy Department, Education Department, Health Department, Rural Development Department, and other departments.
The Chief Minister symbolically handed over checks and certificates to the beneficiaries of Self-Help Groups, Chief Minister's Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Grant Scheme, Bihar State Migrant Labor Accident Grant Scheme, Chief Minister's Nischay Self-Help Allowance Scheme, Student Credit Card, Hunar Mandal Yuva Program, Chief Minister's Aadmi Manch Yojana, Chief Minister's Cycle Yojana, Ayushman Card, Prime Minister's TB Mukt India Abhiyan, and others.
On this occasion, local public representatives and district administration welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with bouquets, shawls, and garlands.
