Patna, September 5: (ABN) Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has said that a separate teacher training university will be established in Bihar for better training and capacity building of teachers. The state has more than seven lakh teachers from primary to higher education, engineering and polytechnics, who will be trained from time to time according to modern requirements. Addressing the Teachers' Day 2026 function at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna, the Chief Minister said that an AI ecosystem will be developed in Bihar with the support of Microsoft, Google and other technological institutions to train teachers in artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the education department and Google on the occasion. He said that the government's target is to release the result within seven days of the matriculation examination, while a system will be made to release the results of engineering and polytechnics within 24 hours. A proposal will also be made to give a chance to re-exam within 15 days to the students objecting to the marks. A committee headed by a serving judge of the High Court has been constituted for examination reforms. The Chief Minister said that around 700 Saraswati Vidya Niktan model schools will be promoted in the state, where students will get the facility of live online tutors till 12 midnight along with NEET and JEE preparation. He said that the land acquisition process for Vikramsheela University was completed on July 15 and efforts should be made to implement it in the next one year. will Efforts are also underway to set up a Banaras Hindu University (BHU) center in Bihar. Samrat Chaudhary said that the dropout rate at the primary level was 46 per cent in 2004-05, which has come down to 2 per cent in 2024-25. At the higher secondary level, this rate has come down from 83 percent to less than 7 percent. He said that the process of appointment of more than 33 thousand teachers is going on through BPSC. Payment of pending salaries of Madrasa and Sanskrit Board teachers has been started, while a separate pay scale will be arranged for unaided teachers. Announcing the acceleration of the examination and result system, the Chief Minister said that the government's target is to release the result within seven days of the end of the matriculation examination. If a student objects to his marks, steps will be taken to give him an opportunity to retake the exam in the specified slot within 15 days. Similarly, the target of releasing engineering and polytechnic results within 24 hours has been set. A committee headed by a serving judge of the High Court has been formed for examination reforms, which will give its suggestions to make the examination system more effective. The Chief Minister said that the possibility of decentralizing the examination system and releasing the results from the examination center is also being considered, so that the students do not face unnecessary delay in the result and admission process. Referring to the ancient educational tradition of Bihar, the Chief Minister said that after Nalanda, the process of establishing Vikramsheela University is also being taken forward. He said that the land acquisition process for Vikram Sheila University has been completed on July 15 and efforts will be made to implement it in the next one year. He said that great educational institutions like Nalanda and Vikram Sheila had established the academic identity of Bihar in the world. The government is working in the direction of connecting this educational heritage with the requirements of the modern era. On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the Chief Minister congratulated Pushpa Prasad of Gopalganj and Khushboo Kumari of Banka for receiving the honor from the President of the Republic. Teachers who have rendered outstanding services were also honored in the event.
