Patna, July 12 (ABN): Chief Minister Smarat Choudhary today laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 982 development projects worth Rs 1047.09 crore in Muzaffarpur, organized by the Urban Development and Housing Department. This includes 669 development projects worth Rs 375.04 crore under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Urban Development Scheme, 3 development projects worth Rs 233.77 crore under the Storm Water Drainage Project, and other development projects including the Muzaffarpur Smart City Project worth Rs 213.25 crore.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Sikandarpur Lake Front at a cost of Rs 213.25 crore under the Muzaffarpur Smart City Project in Sikandarpur. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the Sikandarpur Lake Front. During this, a video clip of the night view of the Sikandarpur Lake Front complex was shown to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister said that with the inauguration of this lake front, adorned with beautiful fountains, lighting, and artwork, the city has got a new identity. Ensure that there is a proper arrangement of lighting in the Sikandarpur Lake Front premises.
The Chief Minister paid tribute to Baba Garib Nath and Shaheed Jaba Samni, including the historical and cultural heritage of the district. Addressing a program organized by the Urban Development and Housing Department and BUDCO at the MIT Muzaffarpur ground, the Chief Minister said that projects related to the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Urban Development Scheme, Smart Tower Drainage Project, and Muzaffarpur Smart City Project have been inaugurated. Today, 673 projects have been inaugurated and 309 projects have been laid, which will significantly improve urban infrastructure, drainage system, and urban amenities. Bihar is moving rapidly towards new heights of development, and the construction of modern infrastructure is the top priority of the government.
The Chief Minister said that 12 new townships will be developed in the state, including Tarhat Township in Muzaffarpur. He said that the construction of the Muzaffarpur airport will start soon. The construction of the Patna-Muzaffarpur Rapid Rail Corridor will reduce the travel time between the two cities to about 40 minutes. The construction of the Haldia-Raxaul highway will further strengthen Muzaffarpur's connectivity and promote trade and transportation. People from Muzaffarpur will be able to reach Kolkata in six hours. He specially thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the construction of a grand temple for Maa Sita in Sitamarhi.
The Chief Minister made a significant announcement in the field of higher education, saying that a University of Architecture and Civil Engineering will be established at the MIT Muzaffarpur campus. He said that this university will become a great center for technical education, research, and innovation and will provide new opportunities for quality technical education to the youth of Bihar.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving forward with the mantra of "Reform, Perform, Transform", and Bihar is also writing a new chapter of development at the same pace. He said that Bihar, which was once considered backward in terms of development, is now making a strong identity among the leading states of the country.
The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made to ensure that no deserving poor person is deprived of government schemes. The families whose names have been removed from the ration card will be identified, and about one crore new families will be included in the ration card, so that the benefits of the Food Security Scheme reach every needy person. The benefits of central and state government schemes are being directly delivered to the public. Farmers are getting financial assistance through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Instructions have been given to provide 12 hours of uninterrupted power supply from 6 am to 6 pm for irrigation, so that farmers do not face any kind of problem in farming.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is working on a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and cybercrime. Through Sahayog Sahayak, action has been taken on about 5 lakh applications so far, and immediate solutions to public problems are being ensured. The applicants whose problems have been solved through Sahayog Sahayak but are not satisfied will have their problems solved at the level of the Chief Minister in Patna on the second Tuesday of every month.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is effectively implementing several schemes to empower women economically. Women's industrialization is being promoted to strengthen Bihar's economy. Funds have been transferred to the accounts of 1 crore 81 lakh Jeevika didis to start employment. On the completion of 100 days of our government, funds will be transferred to the accounts of the remaining Jeevika didis. He said that Muzaffarpur will become a major center of development in the formation of a developed Bihar. A prosperous Bihar will fulfill the dream of a developed India.
