Motihari, September 1: (ABN Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary while addressing Kisan Samradhi Conference and Intellectual, Labor and Social Worker Award Ceremony at Mahatma Gandhi Prekshagraha in Motihari made several major announcements for the development of Motihari and Champaran. The most important announcement was to establish a medical college near Briarpur Airport. An effort will be made to make land available and work will be done to build a medical college at the same location. The Chief Minister also announced the construction of Atal Kala Bhawan in Motihari at a cost of Rs. 20 crore. Samrat Chaudhary said that the government is working to restart the closed sugar mills in Bihar. A new sugar mill will also be set up along with the reactivation of the old sugar mills at Motihari. This will provide better local market, sugarcane consumption and new employment opportunities to the sugarcane farmers of Champaran. Announcing the strengthening of air connectivity in Champaran, the Chief Minister said that the development of airports in Raxaul and Valmiki Nagar and Muzaffarpur Airport is underway. An ATC system will be developed at Briarpur to facilitate helicopter landing even at night. He said that the development of road, electricity, airport and other infrastructure are among the priorities of the government. The Chief Minister said that the youth of Bihar do not have to go to other states for education and employment, the government is taking massive steps for this. To avoid students having to go to Patna, Delhi or Kota to prepare for JEE and NEET, there are plans to prepare three lakh children for the competitive exams at around 700 centres. The facility of teachers will be made available to the students even at night if required through digital means. Referring to the 125 unit free electricity scheme, the Chief Minister said that there are about 1.90 crore household electricity consumers in Bihar, out of which about 1.70 crore families have zero electricity bill since last one year. He termed it as a major change in Bihar. Around 1000 teams of 'Police Didi' have been formed around schools and colleges to protect students and women. The Chief Minister said that the government is continuously working to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream of 'Developed India' and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's dream of 'Prosperous Bihar'. He clarified that the benefits of government schemes are not being given to any group or individual but to all classes and families equally. At the Kisan Samrudhi felicitation ceremony, five progressive farmers of Champaran, Rajeshwar Kushwaha, Reena Devi, Rajkumar Yadav, Pramod Kumar Kushwaha and Ritesh Kumar were felicitated by presenting shawls in recognition of their outstanding services in the agriculture sector. The Chief Minister congratulated MP Radha Mohan Singh on his 77th birthday. Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajinder Singh Shekhawat, Member of Parliament Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey, Minister Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi and many public representatives, officers and representatives of social organizations were present in the ceremony.
