Patna, Aug 24 Around a dozen distinguished Members of Parliament from the Lok Sabha Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture visited Patna on Monday to see the historical sites of Bihar and understand its workings closely. This committee is on a study tour in Bihar. The group included MPs from Gujarat, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar and other states. Earlier, this group of MPs held an important meeting with various departments at the Taj Hotel in Patna. He then visited the historic Khuda Bakhsh Khan Library in Patna, where the ancient manuscripts and treasure trove of knowledge enthralled everyone. Sharing his experience, West Bengal MP Jon Mallya said that this place is ideal for art and history lovers. Here history is preserved in such a way that future generations can know and understand their roots. He thanked former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for building the museum and said it would encourage more people to visit Bihar. Noted computer engineer, social activist, co-founder of Infosys Foundation, and Rajya Sabha MP Padma Shri Sudha Murthy, praised Bihar's progress in roads, infrastructure and art. He expressed his desire to explore Bihar more deeply by personally visiting historical places like Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Mother Sita's birthplace and Kesaria. On the occasion, MP Devesh Chandra Thakur said that the fear people had about Bihar earlier is over. There was a time when people used to migrate from here but now people are coming for tourism. Bihar is on a new path of development. Gujarat Rajya Sabha MP Keshardev Singh described the museum as an example of a unique confluence of modernity and history. He said that the history of thousands of years is so beautifully preserved that it seems alive even today. All religions have a deep connection with the land of Bihar, a glimpse of which is clearly visible here. This state has a lot to offer and show the world. He urged all to visit Bihar to know and understand the rich history and culture of India. Among those who visited the museum were Uttar Pradesh MPR K Chaudhary, Jammu and Kashmir MP Mian Altaf Ahmed, Imran Pratap Garhi, Tamil Nadu MP Kalyan Sundaram and other members of Parliament.
