Bihar's tourism sector will get a new identity: Smarat

Patna (ABN) In the presence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, an agreement was signed today at the Lok Seva Auditorium between the lessee and Welcomhotel (ITC Group) for the operation of Hotel Ajaat Shatru in Rajgir, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (BSTDC). This agreement is a significant step towards developing world-class tourist infrastructure in Bihar and providing high-quality hospitality services to tourists.
On the occasion, Mr. Anil Chadha, Managing Director of 'ITC Group', and Mr. Somit Singh Kalsi, Director of Kalsi Builders, exchanged the MoU in the presence of the Chief Minister by signing it. The Chief Minister said that the Bihar government is continuously working for the overall development of the tourism sector in the state. Better tourist facilities have been developed at Rajgir, Nalanda, Bodh Gaya, and other historical and religious sites.
With the participation of renowned hospitality groups, the tourism sector of Bihar will get a new identity, and better facilities will be provided to tourists coming from within and outside the country. He expressed confidence that the operation of Hotel Ajaat Shatru in the form of Welcomhotel (ITC Group) will give Rajgir a strong identity on the international tourism map and will also give a new impetus to local employment and economic activities.
In the program, Mr. Lokes Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Tourism Department, welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a green plant. During the program, a presentation was given regarding the operation of Hotel Ajaat Shatru, Rajgir, by Welcomhotel (ITC Group). The presentation stated that the hotel located in Rajgir will be operated under the Welcomhotel by ITC brand.
The hotel complex, spread over approximately 2.67 acres, will have 104 modern rooms, a large banquet hall, and world-class hospitality facilities. The project is targeted to be completed and operational by '1 March 2027'. The program was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Tourism Minister Mr. Kedar Prasad Gupta, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Mr. Pratyay Amrit, Development Commissioner Mr. Mahir Kumar Singh, Chief Minister's Secretary Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Tourism Department Secretary Mr. Lokes Kumar Singh, Tourism Department Director Mr. Adhin Mishra, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited Managing Director Mr. Nand Kishore, ITC Group Managing Director Mr. Anil Chadha, and Kalsi Builders Director Mr. Somit Singh Kalsi, along with other senior officials.
