Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the historic land of Barrackpore, which influenced the first freedom struggle of 1857, will now pave the way for change in Bengal. Addressing the Vijay Sankalp Sabha in Barrackpore, West Bengal, the Prime Minister claimed that there will be major changes in the state. He said, "Serving Bengal, protecting it, and saving it from big challenges is my destiny and my responsibility, and I will not back down from it." Calling the rally his last for this election, he said that he is coming back with full confidence that he will attend the oath-taking ceremony of the BJP on May 4. Referring to the huge crowd gathered from the helipad to the pandal, he said that thousands of people came to bless him early in the morning. Describing his roadshow as a yatra-like experience, he said that people stood in line for a long time even after the designated area and asked him to come again and again. Mentioning a woman from Arambagh, Modi expressed regret that he could not meet her and said that he will definitely meet her in the future. He said that for the past three to four decades, he has been traveling continuously across the country and the public is his family. Launching a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress, the Prime Minister said that mills that provide employment in the state are being closed, while bomb factories that employ goons are flourishing. He claimed that around a dozen jute mills in the Barrackpore Industrial Area have been closed in the past few months. He said, "On one hand, mills that generate employment are being closed, while on the other hand, bomb factories and the Trinamool Congress syndicate are spreading. This is Trinamool's jungle raj." He said that Trinamool's politics has been limited to abuses, threats, and lies, and its leaders have not given any account of their 15 years in power. He alleged that Trinamool has forgotten its own "Ma, Mati, Manush" slogan and has done nothing for women, farmers, and youth. Raising the issue of women's safety, Modi appealed to voters to vote for the lotus symbol so that peace and security can be strengthened and daughters can go out without fear. He appealed to women to remember the atrocities of the TMC while voting. The Prime Minister said that Bengal has been suffering from the pain of migration for decades, and due to the lack of employment, young people have been forced to migrate, leaving the elderly alone. Describing it as painful, he said that if the BJP forms a government in the state, generating local employment for youth will be the top priority. Announcing five major measures related to employment after May 4, he said that government recruitments will be transparent and timely, vacant posts will be filled, and employees will get the benefits of the seventh pay commission. Along with this, the creative economy will be promoted, a guarantee of 125 days of employment will be provided in rural areas, and street vendors in cities will be provided with the benefits of schemes. The Prime Minister said that Bengal has strengthened the foundation of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh by sending Syama Prasad Mukherjee to Parliament. The abolition of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir has fulfilled one of his major weights, and now the objectives of the BJP government will be to ensure the prosperity of Bengal and solve the refugee problem. He also targeted the Trinamool Congress with regard to Kolkata, saying that the city was promised to be made like London, but in 15 years, its identity has been changed and infiltrators have been settled. He appealed to citizens to unite to protect Kolkata's identity. Referring to "Ang, Bang, and Kalings", the Prime Minister said that the BJP has already received support in Bihar and Odisha, and now it's Bengal's turn. He described "Vande Mataram" as a mantra for the reconstruction of Bengal in the 21st century and emphasized that the state's development is necessary for the goal of a developed India.
