Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Friday conducted an aerial survey of the current flood situation in the state. During the aerial survey, Chief Minister Mr. Chaudhary reviewed the water level of the Ganges and its tributaries, the situation in the Diara and low-lying areas and the relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. After the aerial survey, the Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting with the officers at the 'Sankalp' auditorium at Lok Sevak Awas to obtain information about the flood situation, water level, embankment situation, relief and rescue works and the work being done in the affected areas. The Chief Minister directed the officers to carry out immediate repair work and to continuously monitor the sensitive areas. In the meeting, Bihar Weather Service Center officer said that according to the current weather forecast, there is no possibility of heavy rain in the coming week. The water level of Ganga river is also expected to decrease in the coming days. The trend of decline in the water level of Ganga in Prayagraj has already started, the effect of which will be seen in Bihar as well. Santosh Kumar Mal, Principal Secretary, Disaster Management Department, said that the relief and rescue work in the flood-affected areas is going on with full vigilance and diligence. Food is being provided to the people in the affected areas through flood relief camps and community kitchen centers. As per SOP, the work is being carried out in a better manner. All District Magistrates are on full alert. 27 SDRF and 09 NDRF teams have been deployed in flood affected areas. Special attention is being paid by SDRF and NDRF teams as per requirement to evacuate people to safe places and carry out relief operations effectively. During the review, the Chief Minister said to identify and list the flood affected people and provide them immediate relief. It should be ensured that no affected family has to wait unnecessarily for assistance. Such arrangements and positive cooperation should be shown by the administration so that there is no fear and chaotic atmosphere among the people. The administration has to prioritize relief and rescue operations by being among the people with full sensitivity. In the affected areas, immediate action should be taken by establishing better coordination with the district administration, SDRF and NDRF.
