Complete Patna Metro Rail Project on time

Patna, 27 April (ABN) Chief Minister Smarat Choudhary held a review meeting of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Panchayati Raj Department, and Tourism Department at 'Samvad' located at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today. The Chief Minister directed the officers to expedite the work and ensure transparency.

In the meeting, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Mr. Venee Kumar, provided detailed information about the current status of major central schemes, including master plans for cities, Regional Rapid Transit System, Patna Metro, and advertisement regulations, among other works. He also informed about the progress of centrally sponsored schemes, including Atal Mission for Urban Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT Project), Prime Minister's Housing Scheme (Urban), and Swachh Bharat Mission.

The department's ongoing projects, such as cleanliness and waste management, installation of CCTV cameras in municipal corporations, solar light scheme, and sewage drainage, were also discussed. In the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department, Mr. Aditya Prakash, provided information about the current status of his department's work and proposed projects.

Secretary of the Tourism Department, Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh, provided information about the overall development of the Mahabodhi Temple corridor (Bodh Gaya) and Vishnupad Temple corridor (Gaya). During the review, the Chief Minister said that urban development projects should be completed quickly. Special attention should be paid to cleanliness and water supply. Whatever basic infrastructure is being constructed should be strong and of high quality.

He directed that under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme (Urban), the remaining ones should be provided with housing quickly, so that homeless families in urban areas can get permanent housing. Use the PPP model for solid waste management, so that waste can be better managed and utilized. Work quickly on STP wherever it is under construction. Expand the sewage network.

The Chief Minister said that cremation grounds/moksh dham should be constructed at the same places where the last rites of the dead are traditionally performed. He said that under the Chief Minister's Rural Solar Light Scheme, all installed solar lights should be ensured to function properly. For this, a monitoring system should be developed, so that it can be known whether the solar light is active in a better way. Ensure that CCTV cameras are installed in every gram panchayat.

The Chief Minister said that the Patna Metro Rail project should be completed on time by expediting the work. Complete the metro rail project from Mokama to Rajendra Nagar terminal as soon as possible. Complete the work of Patna Metro up to Patna Railway Junction by 20 November 2026. The early connection of ISBT, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, and Patna Junction with Patna Metro Rail will provide great convenience to the people.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister's Principal Secretary, Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary, Mr. Pritya Amrit, Development Commissioner, Mr. Mahi Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Mr. Venee Kumar, Chief Minister's Secretary, Mr. Anupam Kumar, Secretary of the Tourism Department, Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh, Chief Minister's Secretary, Mr. Kumar Ravi, OSD of the Home Department, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chief Minister's Secretary, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Commissioner of Patna Division, Mr. Animesh Parasar, Secretary of the General Administration Department, Mohammad Suhail, Additional Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Mr. Aditya Prakash, and Gaya District Magistrate, Mr. Shashank Shubhankar, along with other senior officers, were present.
