Construction of World Trade Center to take place in Patna: Chief Minister

Patna, August 13, 2026: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary held a review meeting today at the 'Sankalp' auditorium of Lok Sevak Awas in Patna regarding the redevelopment and construction of various lands in Patna. During the meeting, the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions for the planned development of Patna, better use of government land, and construction of modern infrastructure.
In the meeting, the National Building Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC) presented a proposal for the construction of a World Trade Center in Patna, along with proposals for the redevelopment of land in front of the Bihar Museum on Nehru Path, Gardani Bagh, Bhootnath Sector 6, and Boring Canal Road.
During the review, the Chief Minister said that such important projects should be given priority to make Patna a modern and global city. He suggested preparing an action plan for the redevelopment of various government lands available in Patna. In this regard, the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) has demanded the creation of models for construction and redevelopment in different areas. He said that old and dilapidated government buildings will be rebuilt and new constructions will be made as needed.
The Chief Minister directed the preparation of an action plan for the construction and development of townships on approximately 2,000 acres of land in Patliputra Township and 1,000 acres of land in other townships. Emphasis was also laid on identifying suitable government land for development in cities like Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, and Darbhanga, and preparing an integrated development plan.
The Chief Minister directed the preparation of a master plan by identifying available land in different areas of Patna and ensuring the maximum use of government assets. He also laid special emphasis on the adoption of modern technology, environmental standards, and the "zero waste model" in construction projects.
According to the proposal, an investment of approximately Rs 4,000 crore is expected through various projects in Patna, while an income of approximately Rs 8,000 crore is expected from these projects.
The Chief Minister directed the officers to quickly identify suitable land for development projects, prepare a detailed action plan, and move the construction and development work forward in a standard and timely manner. He said that the maximum use of government land and assets should be ensured for the comprehensive and planned development of Patna.
The meeting was attended by Urban Development and IT Minister Mr. Nitesh Mishra, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Mr. Pritya Amrit, Rural Affairs and IT Department Secretary Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh, Chief Minister's Secretary Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Building Construction Department Secretary Mr. Purno Kumar, Urban Development Department Secretary Mr. Animesh Parasar, Special Secretary of Urban Development Department Mr. Nalish Ramchandra Diwakar, Patna Municipal Commissioner Mr. Yashpal Meena, NBCC Chairman Dr. K.P. Mahadeva Swamy, and other senior officials of NBCC.
