Directions for immediate disposal of pending court cases related to Chinese mules

Patna, August 12. The state government has expedited the process of resolving land disputes and pending court cases related to sugar mills to give a new impetus to the sugar industry in Bihar. The government's priority is that land-related disputes do not hinder the management, operation, and industrial expansion of sugar mills.
A high-level review meeting was held in the office of Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms, on Wednesday, where a detailed review of land-related matters of sugar mills was taken. Sanjay Paswan, Minister of Sugarcane Industry, was also present at the meeting. Secretaries and senior officials of both departments apprised the ministers of the current status of pending cases.
The meeting reviewed the case related to the assets of Bara Chakiya Sugar Mill in East Champaran, which includes a total of 1008 acres of land, including land from Beetiya Raj. Similarly, a detailed discussion was held on the land-related case of Messrs Hanuman Sugar and Industries Limited in Motihari, which includes 13 bigha 6 katha 13 dhur freehold land and 24 bigha 15 katha 2 dhur leasehold land of Beetiya Raj.
In addition, land-related matters of Sasamusa Sugar Mill in Gopalganj were also reviewed, which include 44 bigha 8 katha 7 dhur proprietary land and 21 bigha 19 katha 9 dhur Hathwa Raj's Mukarari lease land.
The meeting reviewed the case-wise status of pending court cases related to sugar mills, with a focus on government and private land-related matters. Officials were asked to provide details of court proceedings so far, available revenue records, and facts presented in court.
Revenue Minister Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal directed officials to thoroughly compare the nature of land, ownership, revenue records, and facts presented in court in each case. He said that after a thorough investigation of the cases, there should be no unnecessary delay in departmental action.
He directed that in cases related to government land, the interests of the state government should be strongly pursued, and in cases related to private land, a clear stance should be prepared based on available documents and facts.
The meeting emphasized the need for better coordination between the Revenue and Land Reforms Department and the Sugarcane Industry Department to resolve pending cases quickly. Officials were directed to prepare the current status of all cases and ensure effective follow-up in courts with necessary documents.
The state government is trying to resolve land-related disputes that are hindering the operation or development of sugar mills, in accordance with the law and available facts, within a specified period. Emphasis was also laid on regularly reviewing such cases to further boost the sugar industry.
The meeting was attended by Jay Singh, Secretary, Revenue and Land Reforms Department, Dharmendra Singh, Secretary, Sugarcane Industry Department, Kumar Manglam, Secretary, Revenue Board, and Special Officer Nawazish Akhtar, among other senior officials of both departments.
