Effective governance has a vital role of police: Somrat Chaudhry

Patna (ABN) Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary participated in the 'Bank of Baroda Bihar Police Salary Package Deceased Police Personnel Insurance Benefit Distribution Program' today. At the event held at the auditorium of Sardar Patel Bhawan, the Bihar Police Headquarters located on Nehru Path, symbolic checks were handed over to the families of deceased police personnel. In this program, the families of 61 deceased police personnel were given a sum of Rs 37 crore 50 lakh through checks.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that it is extremely unfortunate that 61 police personnel are no longer among us, and their families are being provided with a small amount of assistance through this program. The life of a person cannot be compensated with money, but money is necessary to live. The deceased police personnel also wanted their families to progress and have a prosperous life. Today, funds are being provided to the families of police personnel who have passed away so that they can move forward. I thank the Bank of Baroda for deciding to offer such a good package for these individuals.

Such programs should also be held in other departments. If someone leaves their family behind and departs from this world, there should be a system in place to ensure their family's bright future and happy life. The investment being made in the Bihar Police Force is insufficient because only when the police are strong will good governance be strong, and the path to prosperity will be paved. Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar wanted to make Bihar prosperous, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to develop the country. This path will be smoothed by good governance.

Some people question encounters and talk about a particular community. The police do not shoot bullets by asking someone's caste. It is essential that Bihar be known for good governance. If someone challenges the police, they will be answered in their language within 48 hours. The police are a symbol of good governance and power. It is the government's effort that no criminals should be spared. Police personnel leave their homes and families to ensure the safety of society.

The Chief Minister said that we are moving forward to establish model schools in the form of Saraswati Vidyapeeth in all 534 blocks of Bihar. We want to create a system where the children of ministers and officers follow the same path for their education. Bihar is a land of knowledge, and it was here that Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. The message of peace spread from Bihar to the world. Our effort is to ensure that children receive quality education. We have to establish a system here for the pursuit of knowledge.

Arrangements will be made to ensure cashless medical treatment for police personnel. Arrangements will also be made to ensure quality education for the children of police personnel. Any proposal related to this will be brought to the cabinet and approved. We have to provide the public with quality education and better medical facilities. He said that all necessary funds will be arranged for the cashless treatment of police personnel. Police personnel do not need to worry; the government is fully with them, and they will be provided with all possible facilities.

Since 2005, good governance has been established in Bihar on your behalf. When good governance is established, a large number of industries will be set up here. In Bihar, people are being provided with basic amenities like roads, electricity, drinking water, etc., and this is being taken forward. The Chief Minister said that currently, there are more than 30,000 women police personnel in Bihar, which is the highest in the country. There are no women police personnel in any other state in the country as many as there are in Bihar. The number of women police personnel is continuously increasing.

As the Finance Minister, I presented a budget of Rs 3,17,000 crore for Bihar. This time, Finance Minister Mr. Bijendra Prasad Yadav has presented a budget of Rs 3,47,000 crore for Bihar. If our share in the Bihar budget were 60 to 70 thousand crores, we would have to strengthen the revenue collection system. Industries would have to be promoted. Industries are being set up in Bihar, and they need to be promoted at a rapid pace. Our target is to bring investments of Rs 5 lakh crore to Bihar by November 20, 2026, and make them a reality. There is also a market available in Bihar.

I worked as the Coordinator of GST while serving as the Finance Minister of the state. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, there were four slabs, which have been reduced to two. The country's population is 140 crores, while Bihar's population is 14 crores. No other country has such a dense population. In the year 2000, when Jharkhand was separated from Bihar, the people here were very worried. Our population is twice that of Jharkhand, three times that of Odisha, and more than West Bengal.

Good governance is established with the help of the police, and the path to prosperity is possible only through good governance. We have to create a system that encourages the establishment of more industries in Bihar and attracts investors to Bihar. All police personnel should cooperate in establishing good governance with unity. The convenience and safety of your family are the responsibility of the government. Instructions have been given to open good schools in all 40 police lines of Bihar. I congratulate the Bank of Baroda and the Bihar Police for organizing such a program.

The CD ratio is also a matter of concern. The Bank of Baroda's CD ratio has increased from 28 percent to 59 percent. It needs to be taken to 100 percent. The money of Bihar should be given to the people of Bihar. The bank should try to ensure that the people who deposit money get 100 percent of their money back. Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Mr. Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, DGP Mr. Viny Kumar, Director General of Police Budget Appeal and Welfare; Mr. Sanjay Singh, and General Manager of Bank of Baroda, Mr. Subrat Kumar Swain, also addressed the program.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister's Secretary, Mr. Lokesh Kumar Singh, was also present. Director General, Vigilance; Mr. Jitendra Singh Gangwar, Director General, Bihar Special Armed Police, Mr. Jitendra Kumar, General Director, Campaign, Mr. Kandan Krishnan, and other senior officers, police personnel, and the families of deceased police personnel were also present.
