Ranchi, August 18: Protests by employees recruited through these examinations have intensified after Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the cancellation of various competitive examinations held under JPSC-JSSC, CGL and TDPL in Jharkhand and a CID probe. The employees staged a sit-in and demonstration at the Project Bhawan premises till late Monday night. On Tuesday morning too, a large number of employees reached Project Bhawan and staged a dharna for several hours demanding the government to save their jobs. The protesting employees said that they have no objection to taking action against a candidate if irregularities are found in his appointment or any mistake on his part. But questioning the jobs of nearly two thousand permanent CGL employees without any personal fault is against the requirements of justice. The employees said that the government should make it clear what is the crime of nearly two thousand CGL employees. They say that if there is a mistake in the recruitment process, action should be taken against those responsible for it, but the employees who are employed after the selection process cannot be blamed. According to the protestors, the CID investigation conducted earlier by the government did not reveal the question paper leak. In such a situation, if large-scale irregularity or the involvement of an individual comes to light, then it will not be appropriate to put the responsibility on the appointed employees. The appointed employees demanded that if the government considers their appointments to be wrong or illegal, then by filing an affidavit in the court, they should clarify what crime the appointed employees have committed and on what basis their appointment is illegal. He said that the employment of an employee cannot be terminated only by verbal order or pressure of protest. For this, it is necessary to follow the prescribed legal procedure. The employees said that they will respect the court order and legal process. They will abide by the court's decision on their appointments, but are not ready to quit on the basis of a mere verbal order from the government. After ending the sit-in, the scheduled employees returned to their work at Project Bhawan and other places. However, he made it clear that his protest and talks with the government over job security will continue. It is noteworthy that on the 24th day of the movement of various student organizations including JPSC-JSSC Siddhar Manch, Devendra Nath Mehto Group, Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced action on the demands of the students in front of the media. He had asked for a CID inquiry into the matter along with canceling the examinations conducted under JPSC-JSSCCGL and TDPL. After the Chief Minister's announcement, there is a state of uncertainty and anger among the nearly two thousand youths appointed through these examinations. The fixed employees say that they are legally employed after the selection process is completed. In such a case, they should not bear the brunt of the alleged irregularities in the recruitment process. The appointed employees have demanded the government to check the character of every appointee and candidate before any action is taken and those who are found to have no irregularities should be kept safe.
