Patna, 7 May (ABN) Vijay Kumar Sinha, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who began his political journey with student politics, has traversed a long political journey, playing an active role in the organization, becoming a member of the legislative assembly, assembly speaker, and deputy chief minister. Considered a symbol of straightforwardness and discipline in Bihar politics, Vijay Kumar Sinha took the oath of office as a minister at the historic Gandhi Maidan in the state capital Patna today. His political journey is considered an exemplary example of struggle, organizational skill, and leadership ability. Vijay Kumar Sinha was born in 1967 in Lakhisarai district of Bihar. His early life was spent in a simple environment.
Since his student days, he has been interested in social and political activities. He received his early and higher education from Bihar itself. During student politics, he was associated with the ABVP, and this is where his political career began. He has been an active leader of the BJP and, after shouldering various responsibilities in the organization, stepped into electoral politics. Sinha was first elected as a member of the legislative assembly from the Lakhisarai assembly constituency in February 2005, but he faced defeat in the October 2005 elections. After that, he achieved success consecutively four times in 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2026. Through road, education, and development works in his constituency, he established a strong public base. In 2017, in the Nitish Kumar government, he was given the responsibility of the Labor Resources Department. As a minister, he worked on employment, skill development, and labor welfare schemes. After the 2020 assembly elections, he was made the Speaker of the Bihar Assembly, where he took a tough stance on discipline in the House. After the formation of the Mahagathbandhan government, the BJP made him the leader of the opposition in the assembly, where he consistently targeted the government on issues of law and order, corruption, and administrative issues. In January 2024, after the formation of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, he took the oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. Former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha is now going to take on an important responsibility in the new government. Due to his strong grip in the organization, aggressive style in the House, and administrative experience, the party leadership has consistently shown confidence in him. From being a member of the legislative assembly to minister, assembly speaker, leader of the opposition, deputy chief minister, and now inclusion in the Samarath cabinet - all these positions are a clear indication of his strong influence in Bihar politics.
