Historic step with HUDCO for development of Green Field Satellite Township: Somrat Choudhary

Patna, July 3 (ABN) Chief Minister Smarat Choudhary said on Friday that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Urban Development and Housing and Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) for long-term funding of Rs 1 lakh crore for the development of Greenfield Satellite Townships in Bihar is a historic step.
In the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary, a significant MoU was signed today between the Department of Urban Development and Housing and HUDCO for long-term funding of Rs 1 lakh crore for the development of 12 Greenfield Satellite Townships in the state at Sankalp Bhawan located at Lok Sevak Awas.
Principal Secretary of the Department of Urban Development and Housing, Vinay Kumar, and Chairman and Managing Director of HUDCO, Sanjay Kushwaha, exchanged MoU documents in the presence of the Chief Minister. Addressing the program organized on the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary said that this agreement will prove to be a milestone in the history of urban development in Bihar.
He said that modern, organized, and future-ready satellite townships will be developed in the state, providing people with better housing, high-quality urban amenities, and a standard of living. He said that townships will be developed on an area of over three lakh acres. Farmers will also be made stakeholders in this through land pooling. He said that farmers who apply for compensation will be paid within 30 days.
The Government of Bihar is investing Rs 1 lakh crore through HUDCO for the 12 new townships. In addition, an investment of Rs 06 lakh crore will be made from outside. Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary said that this important initiative will give a new impetus to Bihar's economic development. Large-scale private and institutional investment will be attracted, construction activities will be promoted, and lakhs of direct and indirect employment and self-employment opportunities will be created.
He said that all necessary amenities like modern road network, drinking water, sewage, electricity, green area, education, health, commercial, and social infrastructure will be developed in these Greenfield Satellite Townships, so that people can be provided with world-class urban life. The Chief Minister said that the Government of Bihar is committed to planned, balanced, and holistic urbanization.
He said that this agreement with HUDCO is an important step towards taking the state's development to new heights and making Bihar a leading state in the field of modern urban development. This will fulfill the dream of the people of Bihar. He said that the state government is continuously striving to achieve the target of 35 percent urbanization.
