Patna: The Department of Revenue and Land Reforms has directed to update the list of deceased citizens with the names of eligible heirs soon. Department Secretary Jai Singh directed all revenue officers to deal with at least five dead-deposit cases every month in their respective constituencies. A review meeting was held with all Circle Officers of Nalanda and Sheikhupura Districts at the Training Institute chaired by the Secretary. It reviewed the progress of revenue matters and pending services. The secretary directed to deal with the cases of dead deposits quickly by conducting a campaign and to identify the wrong deposits and make immediate corrections as per the rules. He said that keeping the revenue records correct and updated is the priority of the department. On pending measurement issues, the secretary clarified that non-attendance of the citizen on the scheduled date will not be a reason for pending measurement work. Along with informing the citizen personally and through the available mobile number, the notice should also be pasted on the notice board of the Panchayat Bhawan and Circle Office. The mutation directed action as per the rules against those who submit false documents or wrong information. Amins were also asked to go to the spot and do spot verification. The secretary directed to ensure online disposal of pending encroachment cases in all circles through RCMS and to take immediate action by identifying wrongful collection of government land. He said that timely and quality disposal of revenue matters is essential. Accountability will be fixed for unnecessary delay or negligence in work, while better performing officers and employees will be encouraged.
