Lucknow's thrilling win over Kolkata

In the 15th match of IPL 2026, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 3 wickets in a highly thrilling contest, registering their second consecutive win in the tournament. The hero of the match played at Eden Gardens was Mukul Choudhary, who turned an improbable win into reality.

Mukul Choudhary (54 not out) and Ayush Badoni (54) played aggressive innings, helping Lucknow Super Giants defeat Kolkata Knight Riders by 3 wickets, marking their second consecutive victory in the tournament. With Lucknow having lost 6 wickets for 125 runs, Mukul Choudhary emerged as the actual hero of the win. He scored 54 not out off 27 balls, hitting 2 fours and 7 sixes, and led the team to 182/7, securing a thrilling victory.

Chasing a target of 182 runs, the opening pair of Mitchell Marsh and Eden Markram from Lucknow Super Giants put up 41 runs for the first wicket. In the 5th over, Vaibhav Arora took two wickets, dismissing Eden Markram (22) and Mitchell Marsh (15), giving Kolkata a double breakthrough. Captain Rishabh Pant and Ayush Badoni then attempted to steady the innings, but in the 9th over, Cameron Green dismissed Rishabh Pant (10). Nicholas Pooran (13) and Abdul Samad (2) also failed to stay at the crease for long.

In the 15th over, Anukul Roy dismissed Ayush Badoni, dealing a significant blow to Lucknow. Badoni had played a crucial 54-run innings off 34 balls, hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. In the very next over, Sunil Narine sent Mohammed Shami back to the pavilion. Mukul Choudhary then single-handedly took charge, playing aggressive shots and hitting sixes, and eventually scored a run on the last ball to secure a memorable win for his team. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Vaibhav Arora and Anukul Roy took 2 wickets each, while Sunil Narine, Kartik Tyagi, and Cameron Green claimed 1 wicket each.
