Muzaffarpur, 22 April (ABN) The police in Muzaffarpur district have busted a cyber network gang, arresting four people. Senior Superintendent of Police Kanti Kumar Mishra said on Wednesday that a raid was conducted in the Ahia Pur police station area's Grahra OP area on Tuesday based on a tip-off. The information was that Risham Kumar, a resident of Kafen Choudhary village, was selling people's personal information to a foreign cyber gang by creating illegal APIs.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, a special team was immediately formed, which included officers from the Bihar Special Task Force (STF), District Intelligence Unit, and Cyber Police Station. Mr. Mishra said the police acted swiftly and arrested the main accused, Risham Kumar. Based on his tip, three other accused, Deepak Choudhary alias Ashu Kumar (Ghazipur, UP), Siddhanshu Kumar (Darbhanga), and Sahil Kumar (Muzaffarpur), were also arrested. Mobile phones were recovered from all of them, which contained important digital evidence.
The investigation revealed that the accused used fake SIM cards and Telegram IDs to collect data, which was then sold to foreign criminals through Telegram Bot, API, and OSINT tools. Evidence of the operation of several suspicious Telegram groups and channels has been found from the accused's equipment. The Senior Superintendent of Police said that four mobile phones and one iPad have been seized from the main accused. The police have also found evidence of suspicious transactions of around four lakh rupees in their bank accounts, which have been frozen.
Furthermore, conversations related to data transactions with foreign groups have also come to the fore. The police are now investigating the international connections of this network and identifying other individuals involved.
