Patna, August 27: A high-level review meeting was held in Patna under the joint chairmanship of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh and Panchayati Raj Department Minister Deepak Prakash. The main objective of the meeting was to find an early and permanent solution to administrative and technical issues related to the long-pending honorarium and payment issues of caretakers (caretakers) of the Nal Jal project across the state. During the meeting, the practical difficulties faced in effectively running the 'Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal' scheme in rural areas and the long pending gratuity and other payments to the caregivers were discussed in detail. Therefore, it is important to address their issues on a priority basis. After the review meeting, the two ministers issued clear instructions to the senior officers of Lok Sahat Engineering Department and Panchayati Raj Department to speed up the process of pending payments and ensure payment of outstanding amount as soon as possible. The main objective of the meeting is to provide the facility of clean drinking water to the rural population. Ministers said that timely payment of dues to caretakers would enable them to perform their services more diligently and responsibly. This would also ensure that routine maintenance of plumbing systems, repair of water pipelines and maintenance of motors would continue efficiently and reduce the chances of interruption of water supply in rural areas. The high-level meeting was attended by several senior officers of both the departments, including B. Karthike, Secretary, Department of Public Health Engineering, and Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department, Manoj Kumar. At the end of the meeting, the commitment was reiterated to develop a permanent and effective system to resolve the issues of the caretakers of Nal Jal Project, so that there is no unnecessary delay in payment of gratuity or other payments in future. No level of negligence should be allowed in providing clean drinking water facility to common people.
