Patna (ABN) Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit visited the magnificent campus of the world-renowned Nalanda University located in Rajgir. The primary objective of the visit was to gather information about the university's academic activities, infrastructure, and its unique 'Net Zero, Environmental Model'. On the occasion, Nalanda's District Magistrate and Police Superintendent, along with other senior government officials, were present. Upon arrival at the university, the Chief Secretary was welcomed by senior faculty members. The university's faculty members apprised the Chief Secretary of the institution's historical past and current academic structure through a presentation. They informed him that the university is currently running various internationally recognized schools, such as Historical Studies, Environmental Science, and Buddhist Studies.
Amrit inspected the university's state-of-the-art library, the Sushma Swaraj Auditorium, Yoga Complex, and academic blocks. He appreciated the magnificent blend of ancient Nalanda architecture and modern technology. The Chief Secretary took a keen interest in the university's 6.5-megawatt solar farm, bio-gas plant, and water harvesting system. He said that Nalanda University's 'Net Zero Carbon Footprint Model' should serve as an inspiration for other institutions in Bihar.
After the inspection, while addressing the officers and faculty members, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit said that Nalanda has been a symbol of knowledge not only for Bihar but for the entire world. He felt delighted to see the newly constructed campus, which blends its ancient heritage with modern innovation. The state government is committed to providing all possible support for the development of this university as an international center for the advancement of knowledge.
During the visit, Nalanda's District Magistrate apprised the Chief Secretary of the ongoing developments and infrastructure around the campus. In conclusion, the Chief Secretary expressed his desire for the university's bright future, saying that this institution will further strengthen India's educational ties with Southeast Asia and other countries in the future.
