Need to convey rich intellectual heritage of Nalanda to people through various communication channels: Governor

Patna, August 10 (ABN) Governor of Bihar Lt Gen Syed Atta Hasnain (retd) said on Monday that the rich intellectual and cultural heritage of Nalanda needs to be brought to more people through writing and various means of communication. Mustar Hasnain said that there is no dearth of talent and intellectual potential in Bihar and there is a need to bring the talent and intellectual power of Bihar to the fore at the national and international level in an effective manner. A high-level meeting on the long-term development plan of Nalanda University was held at Bihar Lok Bhavan under the chairmanship of the Governor. Nalanda University Chancellor Prof. Arvind Pangadhia, Bihar Chief Secretary Pratiye Amrit, former Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India Rudrinder Tandon, Nalanda University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, university teachers and officers of Bihar Lok Bhavan were present in this meeting. The meeting discussed in detail the improvement of road and rail connectivity of Nalanda University, the overall development of Nalanda University-Rajgir Knowledge and Innovation City and further strengthening of the University's collaboration with the Government of Bihar and the higher education system of the state. The Governor informed about the implementation of Samarth Portal in Nalanda University. He said that people should be provided with an easy and convenient system to connect with the university and avail its facilities and resources. He also emphasized the need to give more information to the people about the methodology, ideology, history and rich cultural heritage of Nalanda University. Mr. Hasnain said that articles and knowledge materials related to the history, knowledge tradition and heritage of Nalanda should be produced and disseminated widely through various communication channels, so that more and more people can be exposed to the wonderful tradition of Nalanda.
