Patna (ABN) Junior doctors of Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), the largest government hospital of the state, have gone on strike once again. The Junior Doctors Association (JDA) has announced the closure of OPD services from September 26 till further orders. However, emergency, ICU and other essential life-saving services will continue. JDA has appealed to the health department to discuss their demands urgently and take action within the stipulated period. JDA has given 4 main reasons behind its strike. The first demand of the organization is related to attacks on doctors. The JDA has demanded immediate action, registration of FIR by the institution and effective security measures in the recent incidents of violence at DMCH (Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital) and PMCH. The second case is related to the action taken against the doctors in Saharsa. The JDA has demanded an impartial review of the action taken against Dr. Sushil Kumar Azad and Dr. Roshan Lal. The organization says that considering the circumstances of the entire case, the action should be reviewed and the health department should also listen to the doctors' position. The third demand is related to doctors appointed on bond. The JDA says that the salaries of these doctors should be revised and appropriate posts and remuneration should be fixed according to their responsibilities. The fourth demand is related to the NOC policy. JDA has demanded amendment in the provisions related to restrictions imposed under the health department. According to the organization, the existing restrictive provisions should be reviewed and necessary modifications should be made. The JDA has said that the health department should immediately discuss all these issues with the doctors' representatives and find a solution within the stipulated period.
