Patna, 25 April (ABN) Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday directed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for the development of eco-tourism in the state. Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary today held a review meeting regarding eco-tourism. In the meeting, officers from the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Department of Water Resources, Department of Minor Water Resources, Department of Urban Development and Housing, and Department of Panchayati Raj provided detailed information about the action plan of their respective departments regarding the development of eco-tourism. Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary said in the review meeting that there are many possibilities for eco-tourism in the state. Directing officials to work quickly for its overall development, he said that Bihar's historical heritage, cultural and religious sites should be linked to eco-tourism. Mr. Choudhary said that the government is fully committed to making Bihar a center of attraction for tourists from within and outside the country and to develop it as a spiritual, cultural, and eco-tourism hub. He directed that tourist facilities be developed around the state's water resources under the PPP model and that local people's suggestions should also be included in the process. Tourist packages should be prepared soon, keeping in mind the convenience and encouragement of tourists, so that tourists can enjoy them. Chief Minister Choudhary directed that a special two-day tourist package be prepared for ministers, MLAs, officials, and employees, so that they can visit and stay at Bihar's important tourist destinations and experience the facilities there. He said that for the promotion of tourism in the state, it is necessary for officials to visit these places themselves and spend time there. This will not only give them an understanding of the arrangements at the ground level, but also inform the general public about the characteristics and available facilities of these places, which will promote tourism. Mr. Choudhary directed that the state government's ponds be planted with trees by the Department of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change on all sides and that tourist facilities be developed. This will promote local employment. The state's green cover area will increase, and it will also facilitate water conservation. Chief Minister Mr. Choudhary directed that a plan be prepared to develop the state's Jain circuit as well and that talks be held with members of the Jain community and their cooperation be obtained. He said that significant efforts have been made to promote tourist facilities in the state. Many historical sites have been preserved. The government is engaged in public welfare works, and many works are being done to promote tourism in the state.
