Patna: (Correspondent) The Nazim of Islah-e-Muashrah of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Maulana Syed Azhar Madani, has expressed deep concern over the growing network of social evils, particularly institutions like Bandhan Bank that lend money, saying that our women are being severely tortured after being trapped in the clutches of these institutions, which is causing the moral fabric of society to deteriorate. He emphasized that the Muslim community must come together and take immediate and organized measures to rescue their daughters from this quagmire. He expressed these views as a special guest at the Islah-e-Muashrah conference organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in Patna.

Maulana Azhar Madani, while clarifying the concept of Islah-e-Muashrah, said that the elimination of all evils that corrupt society is the real reform. Quoting the Quran and Sunnah, he said: "Amr bil Ma'ruf wa Nahi anil Munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil) is the fundamental duty of this Ummah, in which there is no room for any kind of negligence."

In his address, the Nazim of Islah-e-Muashrah elaborated on the evils that are eating away at society like termites, such as drugs and usury. He particularly pointed out the names of microfinance institutions and Bandhan Bank, indicating how women are being lured into easy loans. He made a heartfelt appeal that when these women fail to repay the loans, they are subjected to unbearable mental and physical torture, even affecting their dignity and modesty. To deal with this serious situation, he stressed the need for the entire nation to work together.

Along with social reform, while talking about the training of the new generation, Maulana Madani said that protecting the faith of the youth and children is the most important requirement of the time. The only solution to this is the widespread dissemination of knowledge and acting upon it. He advised Muslims that while the establishment of madrasas is necessary, it is now time to open their own schools and colleges for modern education as well. The new generation should be equipped with both religious and worldly education so that they can become the best and most useful citizens for society.

On this occasion, Bihar's Minister of Dehi Development, Information, and Public Relations, and senior JDU leader, Shroan Kumar, highly praised the sincere efforts of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. He said that just as Jamiat Ulema has always been at the forefront of social work and its elders have played a historic role in the freedom struggle, it is not hidden from anyone. The minister further said that "our leader Nitish Kumar is also a great champion of social reform, who has waged a decisive war against evils like liquor and dowry. Nitish Kumar has not only built buildings and bridges but has done historic work for the development of all the deprived and backward classes of society." He assured the organizers that as long as they are in power, no discrimination or oppression will be allowed against any section of society, and they are ready to make every sacrifice to protect the trust of the people in their government.

Bihar Legislative Council member (MLC) Dr. Khalid Anwar also emphasized the importance of social reform, saying that Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind is one of the most active and dynamic organizations in the country, whose achievements are as clear as daylight. This organization is no less than a blessing for the oppressed and deprived classes. He said bluntly that "the social fabric that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has created in Bihar has no place for communal elements, and our government is standing shoulder to shoulder with Jamiat in every positive and reformative work."

Al-Karim University's Chancellor and former Rajya Sabha member, Dr. Ahmad Ashfaq Karim, expressed his delight at the organization of this beautiful gathering, terming it the most pressing need of the time. He pointed to a serious disease spreading in society, saying that "depriving a grandson of his inheritance after his father's death by declaring him 'mahjub' is not correct from an Islamic and moral point of view. It is the responsibility of grandparents to take special care of such orphaned children." Along with this, he elaborated on the importance of the Zakat system for the eradication of poverty in society and its economic and social benefits.

The meeting was also addressed by Bihar State Waqf Board Chairman Alhaj Arshadullah, Imarat-e-Sharia's Nazim Mufti Saeedur Rehman Qasmi, All India Milli Council's Vice President Maulana Anisur Rehman Qasmi, Dr. Pritik Anand, Maulana Abdul Basit, and Maulana Haiderul Islam, who stressed the elimination of social evils.

The grand conference was presided over by Jamiat Ulema-e-Bihar's President Maulana Bader Ahmed Majibi, while the conduct of the meeting was efficiently carried out by Mashhood Ahmed Qadri Nadvi.

The meeting concluded with a heartfelt and emotional prayer by special guest Maulana Syed Azhar Madani, in which the attendees, with tearful eyes, prayed for the reform of society, the protection of the Ummah, and peace in the country.

Prior to this conference, an important organizational and reformative meeting was held this morning under the auspices of Jamiat Ulema-e-Bihar at Madni Musafir Khana, Patna Junction, which was attended by the working committee members, district presidents, and nazims of Jamiat Ulema-e-Bihar. The meeting was presided over by Jamiat Ulema-e-Bihar's President Maulana Bader Ahmed Majibi. The meeting discussed the current social, religious, and organizational situation in the state of Bihar in detail. On this occasion, emphasis was laid on making Jamiat Ulema's organizational activities more vibrant in the state and playing an effective role in solving public problems.

According to the agenda, Jamiat Ulema-e-Bihar's Nazim-e-Ali Maulana Muhammad Abbas Qasmi read out the previous proceedings, which were approved by the attendees. A detailed discussion was held on the census in the light of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind's circular, and its importance and benefits were explained to the people. The difficulties that may arise were also discussed. The meeting also discussed the organization of the state's executive council at the end of the year. The attendees were informed about Jamiat Ulema's performance in dealing with the mob lynching incident last year. The session was conducted by Jamiat Ulema-e-Bihar's District Patna President Maulana Syed Shah Mashhood Ahmed Qadri Nadvi.
