Patna, 8 May: (ABN) Minister of Information and Public Relations, Shroan Kumar, took charge on Wednesday. On his arrival, the Secretary of the department, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, and Director, Mr. Anil Kumar, along with other officers, welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers. On this occasion, Minister Kumar said that he would fulfill the important responsibility entrusted to him with full dedication. This is one of the most important departments of the government. The main responsibility of this department is to transmit information and provide accurate information to the public.
The Minister emphasized that while utilizing social media platforms to the maximum, the effective publicity of all public welfare schemes of the government should be ensured. At the same time, false or misleading news spreading on these platforms should be immediately denied through official handles after fact-checking, so that no confusion is created among the public. He gave a clear message that the department's primary focus will be on the accurate and timely transmission of information, ensuring that accurate information about government projects and achievements reaches the public.
He said that the department, which was handed over to him by Mr. Nitish Kumar, has been successfully managed so far. He laid special emphasis on strengthening the positive image of Bihar. He said that comprehensive measures will be taken to maintain the positive image of the state outside Bihar as well. To achieve this goal, print media, electronic media, radio, and social media tools will be used in a coordinated manner.
He further said that information about important government schemes should be provided to the last mile in rural areas as well. Shroan Kumar directed the department to make its work more effective. He said that the shortage of human resources in the department should be addressed immediately so that all work can be completed without any obstacle or delay. He directed the officers to use innovative technology and creative methods to make information transmission more effective.
On this occasion, besides Barauli (Gopalganj) MLA Manjit Singh and Pipra (Supaul) MLA Ram Vilas Kamat, Additional Secretary of the department, Rajiv Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary Vidyabhushan Choudhary, Joint Director Ravi Bhushan Sahay, OSD Kumari Lal Sathyannadan, and other senior officers and employees of the department were present.
