Patna, September 9, 2026: Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary awarded cash prizes, medals and certificates to 168 toppers of the Intermediate and Matriculation Annual Examination 2026 in a function held at Lok Sevak Awas' 'Nek Samwad' Sabhagar on Wednesday. On this occasion, an additional amount of 51 thousand rupees was also provided to the toppers to buy a laptop.
The ceremony was inaugurated by lighting a candle. The Chief Minister announced the top three students of Intermediate Science Aditya Prakash Aman, Sakshi Kumari and Sapna Kumari, the top four students of Arts Nashu Kumari, Siddhi Shikha, Chandradeep Kumar and Muhammad Lucky Ansari, the top two students of Commerce Aditya Kumari and Mahi Kumari, the top two students of Vocational Course Priyanshu Raj and Anika Upadhyay, while the top three students of Matriculation Pushpanjali Kumari, Sabreen Parveen and Naheed Sultana was honored.
Two lakh rupees were given to the first position, one and a half lakh to the second and one lakh rupees to the third position. 30,000 rupees were given to those who got fourth and fifth positions in intermediate, while Rs. An additional Rs 51,000 was also provided to all the awarded students to purchase laptops.
"168 students are topper for me"
Congratulating the students, the Chief Minister said that success is the result of hard work, ability and dedication. He said that honoring the Topris by inviting them to the Lok Sevak Awas is a special occasion for them as well as for the government. "The 168 students present here are toppers for me" and everyone's achievement is a matter of pride, he said.
He said that earlier the toppers were awarded several months after the examination results. After this came to light during the evaluation, the officials were directed to hold the toppers' felicitation ceremony within a month of the release of the upcoming results, so that the students can get timely encouragement.
Nalanda and Vikramsheela's determination to carry on the scholarly tradition
Samrat Chaudhary said that Bihar has been identified as an important center of knowledge and education since ancient times. Great educational centers like Nalanda and Vikramsheela are symbols of the scholarly tradition of this land. He said that Nalanda University has been reactivated, while progress is also being made towards the establishment of Vikramsheela University and 200 acres of land has been allotted for it on July 15.
He said that efforts are being made to make the state an important center of education again by combining Bihar's glorious educational past with modern facilities.
Modern educational facilities in 700 model schools
The Chief Minister said that facilities like coaching, live class and live teacher are being provided in 700 Saraswati Vidya Nikitan model schools of the state to provide a better educational environment to the students. He also appealed to the ex-students to come forward to help their school and the students studying there.
Youth should be employers, not job seekers
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal is 'Developed India' and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's commitment is 'Prosperous Bihar'. The role of youth is most important in achieving these goals. He appealed to the youth not to become job seekers only but to aim to become job providers.
He said that land has been provided for about 1000 industries in the state so far. With industrial development new employment and business opportunities will be created for the youth.
The need for a permanent solution to flooding
Referring to the flood situation in the state, the Chief Minister said that despite 38% less rainfall, Bihar has faced floods. As the state is affected by floods every year, relief and rescue measures alone are not enough. Long-term planning is essential for sustainable flood solutions.
He said that long-term measures will be taken to improve and manage the natural water flow and water cycle, so that the flood crisis that occurs every year can be permanently reduced.
"Youth should play their role in the development of Bihar"
Samrat Chaudhary asked the students to use their talent and knowledge for the development of Bihar. He said that those who are achieving success outside Bihar should also contribute to the development of their native place.
The Chief Minister described the honored students as a symbol of the bright future of Bihar and asked them not only to achieve success themselves but also to inspire other students to move forward through hard work and education. He also appealed to the students to give their suggestions regarding the development of the state and wished them well for their bright future.
The Chief Minister had lunch with the students and parents
After the felicitation ceremony, lunch was organized by the Chief Minister for all the students and their parents at Lok Sevak Awas. The Chief Minister sat down with the students and had food and learned about their future plans and interests in a friendly atmosphere. The students also seemed happy while having a frank conversation with the Chief Minister.
In the ceremony, Bihar School Examination Board Chairman Dr. Tyag Rajan SM welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting green plant and momento. A short film based on the functioning of the board was also shown on this occasion.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Bajinder Prasad Yadav and Education Minister Mithlesh Tiwari also addressed the event. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratiya Amrit, Secretary to Chief Minister Lokesh Kumar Singh, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Education Department Secretary Rajeev Roshan, Bihar School Examination Board Chairman Dr. Tyag Rajan SM and many senior officers, students and their parents were present on this occasion.
