Supplying arms to Israel is a blot on humanity and Hindustan: Maulana Mahmood Madani

New Delhi: Maulana Mahmoud Asad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has expressed severe concern, deep sorrow, and frustration over Amnesty International's recent research report, which revealed that hundreds of thousands of military weapons and artillery shells were sent to Israel from India between October 7, 2023, and November 2025.
Maulana Madani, terming the foreign ministry's response to the issue as vague, said that the government's attitude towards such a sensitive international matter is severely damaging to the country's moral foundations and global prestige.
In an official statement issued to the media, Maulana Madani said that the International Court of Justice had clearly warned all countries in 2024 to stop supplying arms to Israel in view of its occupation and genocide activities. Moreover, under the 1949 Geneva Convention and the 1948 Genocide Convention, there is a strict ban on the supply of weapons used in war crimes. Despite knowing that these weapons are being used in the one-sided massacre of innocent children, women, and civilians, supplying arms is a criminal act and equivalent to participating in genocide. This is not only against international law but also a blot on humanity and India's conscience.
Maulana Madani recalled that since the time of Mahatma Gandhi, India's golden history has always been on the side of oppressed Palestinians. The current government has changed this by making a false claim of neutrality, but even if it is accepted, claiming to be neutral and providing arms to the oppressor is a betrayal of our country's principles, its moral history, and its pledge, which no conscientious citizen can accept at any cost.
He said, "On this occasion, we strongly demand that the Government of India immediately and completely stop the supply of arms and military equipment to Israel by all government and private companies, end its vague statements, and bring out the clear truth. It should also sever all military ties with Israel to protect humanity. India's global prestige is based on its moral power and standing with truth. Therefore, by severing ties with Israel, the country's moral reputation should be saved."
Maulana Madani urged the government to take immediate action to stop the supply of arms to Israel and to prioritize humanity and moral values over any other consideration.
