A state-wide checking campaign was conducted under the supervision of the police headquarters to control crime in the state and create fear among criminals. Following the instructions of Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Principal Secretary, Home Department, this special checking drive was launched in all districts to strengthen law and order and prevent illegal liquor and drug smuggling. Railway Police and Excise and Narcotics Control Bureau also participated in this campaign. This campaign was conducted with special patrols under the supervision of SP, SDM, SDPOs of all districts. Meanwhile, 47,718 vehicles were checked across the state, fines of over Rs 56 lakh were collected from 3,660 vehicles. 110 vehicles were confiscated. 736 accused were arrested. 116 warrants were arrested. 29 drunk people were also arrested. During this time, a large quantity of illegal liquor and drugs were recovered. It included 1,169 liters of country liquor, 3,482 liters of foreign liquor, 216 grams of smack, 3.17 grams of heroin and 3.37 kilograms of hashish. Four illegal arms, one cartridge, 54 mobile phones, and Rs 9,31,500 in cash were also recovered during the special operation. Apart from capital Patna, Nalanda, Gayaji, Aurangabad, Nawada, Jehanabad, Arul, Rohtas, Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Motihari, Batia, Bagha, Saran, Siwan and others were also recovered. Vehicle checking, arrests, execution of warrants and action against illegal liquor and drugs were carried out in the districts. During the operation, 240 vehicles were checked by the Railway Police. Nine accused and one warrant were arrested. 55.3 liters of domestic and 205 liters of foreign liquor, six mobile phones and two knives were recovered. A special operation was conducted by the Liquor Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau in Patna during which 131 shops were searched. 74 liters of foreign liquor, one auto, one lovelet, one scooter, 50 ATM passbooks and checkbooks and two mobile phones were recovered from Gandhi Maidan area. 280 grams of ganja and two mobile phones were recovered from Kotwali area and 37 cigarettes, ganja and seven pieces of dooda were recovered from Shastri Nagar area. Four people were also arrested in this operation. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining law and order, stopping illicit liquor and drug smuggling and arresting wanted and warranted suspects during the campaign of 50 ATMs seized at the cyber unit level for deep investigation of economic criminal activities.
