Police have arrested two main accused involved in molestation and misbehavior incident with a minor student and her friend in Jamui. After the video of the incident went viral, a wide-scale action was started by identifying the accused involved. On the second day, the SIT (Special Task Force) team formed at the district level succeeded in identifying and nabbing both the main criminals. The Jamui police received a tip-off at 5 am on September 22 (Tuesday) that the two main accused were hiding on the banks of a river outside Pratappur village in the district. On the basis of this information, the raiding team surrounded the area and both the undercover criminals started trying to escape after seeing the police. Meanwhile, Hariram Yadav fell several times, due to which he broke his leg and sustained injuries. While the second culprit, Nandan Yadav, was hiding in the nearby forest. During the search, he started firing at the police. He was injured by a bullet in his leg in an act of self-defense by the police. In this case, three accused were arrested on September 21, the first day after the video went viral. But these three turned out to be minors. As a result of continuous raids and investigations at the level of the SIT constituted in this case, the case was busted within 24 hours. Also, on the second day, both the main criminals were caught. According to the information received, the two main arrested accused, Hariram Yadav and Nandan Yadav, have an old criminal history. They have been involved in illegal sand mining and illegal liquor business in the area. Cases have been registered against them in nearby police stations. Investigation has also been started against other persons involved in their illegal racket. Jamui SP Shri Vishwajit Dayal himself is looking into the matter seriously. He said that the two main criminals are being interrogated continuously. If anyone else's name appears in it, strict action will be taken against him as well. Criminals or criminals involved at all levels will not be spared. Massive action is also being taken against those who made a video related to this sensitive incident and made it viral on various social media platforms without hiding the identity of the minor girl. In this case, Case No. 45/26 dated September 21 has been registered at Jamui Cyber Police Station. The case has been registered under relevant provisions of IT Act, POCSO Act and JJ (Juvenile Justice) Act. In this case, 3 people have been arrested who were continuously making this post viral. Apart from this, cases have also been registered on 120 social media posts or profiles. Other social media profiles involved in the matter will also be identified and action taken.
