On this occasion, Prime Minister Mr. Modi and Governor Lieutenant General (Retired) Syed Ata Hasnain addressed the gathering. The 'Nasha Mukta Yuva for Vikasit Bharat Sankalp' campaign was formally launched in Bihar by the Governor and the Chief Minister by lighting a lamp.
Addressing the program, the Chief Minister, while appreciating the campaign launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Modi, said that a drug-free young generation is essential for a prosperous Bihar and Vikasit Bharat. He said that the role of the country's youth will be most important in fulfilling the resolve taken by Prime Minister Mr. Modi to build a Vikasit Bharat by 2047. Only when the youth remain healthy, disciplined, and drug-free will they be able to contribute to national development with all their capabilities.
The Chief Minister said that freedom from drugs cannot be achieved only at the level of government or law. The government can make laws, but their effective implementation and social acceptance are possible only with public participation. Therefore, there is a need to run a widespread public awareness campaign against drugs and especially to involve the youth in it.
The Chief Minister, while mentioning the efforts made in the direction of 'Nasha Mukti' in Bihar, said that under the leadership of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, total prohibition was implemented in Bihar in 2016. Today, its positive results are visible in the society. He said that prohibition has especially benefited women and families and has brought about a positive change in the social environment.
He said that the land of Bihar has given India its 'Golden Age' in ancient times. Bihar has a glorious history in the fields of knowledge, education, culture, and social awareness. Today, once again, the youth of Bihar have to play a key role in building a Vikasit Bharat and a prosperous Bihar on the basis of their energy and capability.
Mr. Choudhary said that Bihar is a densely populated and large consumer state. After the implementation of the GST system, consumer states like Bihar have benefited significantly. The state government is giving equal priority to social reforms along with strengthening Bihar's economic capabilities.
