Patna, August 23: (ABN) Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary today inaugurated the Mega Job Fair 2026 organized by the Department of Youth, Employment and Skill in the private sector in banking, financial services, insurance, retail and other related sectors by lighting the candle of the appointment letter distribution program. The Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up by various employers. He interacted with these youth who had come for job interview and got information about their career and employment. The Chief Minister also learned about the assistance provided to the youth in finding careers and employment through AI-powered kiosks. In the program, the Chief Minister gave the appointment letters to the candidates selected by the appointees. Also, the Chief Minister also honored the employers who performed best in Portugal Internship. He also felicitated the India Skill winners representing India in the World Skill Competition 2026 held in Shanghai, China. On this occasion, the Chief Minister released a coffee table book related to the Mega Job Fair 2026. A short film based on the Mega Job Fair 2026 was also screened in front of the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a Training Center for Rehabilitation of Mentally Convalescents and a Training Center for Skill Development and Vocational Training of Persons with Disabilities and Transgender Communities and a Pre-Departure Orientation Training Center at Bihar Institute of Mental Health and Rehabilitation, Bhojpur through Remort. Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said that 20,226 youths got employment opportunities due to the participation of more than 115 employers in the mega job fair. Out of these 3,940 youths got employment within Bihar, 36 persons with disabilities also got employment opportunities, and 476 youths were selected for employment abroad. He congratulated and wished all the selected youths and said that getting employment will change their lives. He said that earlier job fairs were organized in Bihar at state and division level. Now the government has decided to organize job fairs in every district of Bihar from next year. It is a matter of pride that the youth of Bihar are getting employment with their skills. Talents from Bihar will showcase their skills in other states of the country as well as abroad. The Chief Minister said that a target has been set to provide employment opportunities to one crore people in the next five years. Work in this direction is going on rapidly. The government's effort is to ensure that no one needs to leave Bihar for livelihood. He said that in 2020, the NDA government had set a target of providing jobs to 10 lakh people and employment to 10 lakh people. During this period 11.5 lakh people were given government jobs and 51 lakh people were given employment. He said that efforts are being made at all levels to promote industry, infrastructure and employment in Bihar. The Central Government has been requested to establish a World Trade Center in Patna to attract people from the world to Bihar and provide employment opportunities to its youth. The Chief Minister said that the construction of 126 km long Marine Drive is going on under PPP mode. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 70,000 crore, of which the Bihar government has contributed Rs 20,000 crore and the private sector has contributed Rs 50,000 crore. Affordable and quality technical education is being provided to the youth in Bihar. Bihar government polytechnic institutes provide facility of engineering education for 5 years and engineering college for 10 fees. Language classes are also being given to the youth so that they can easily get jobs abroad. He said that 642,000 applications have been received under Koshyog Parvam so far, of which 96% have been processed. Each application is to be processed within 30 days. The Chief Minister said that the Global Talent Competition 2026 is being held in Shanghai, China. Best wishes to the participants representing India there. He said that 2.5 lakh youth have been trained through Bihar Skill Development Mission, while 1.2 lakh youth have been awarded certificates through Skilled Youth Programme. Bihar had a total of 278 degree colleges since independence. On July 15, the state government simultaneously inaugurated teaching in 211 degree colleges. Due to this, students now have access to degree colleges at the block level. 511 model schools have been opened in the state, where live classes have also been started. Arrangements have been made to ensure that teachers are available online till 11 pm for model school students. He said that an opportunity of employment has come in your life.
