Both ruling and opposition parties have an equal role in strengthening democracy

Patna, July 11: (ABN) The two-day awareness program for the members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, held at Gaya's Beapard, was jointly inaugurated by Vice President of India, Shri C P Radhakrishnan, Governor (Retd) Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain, and Chief Minister, Shri Samrat Choudhary, along with Chairman of Bihar Legislative Council, Shri Uday Narayan Singh, Speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly, Dr Prem Kumar, and Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Vijay Kumar Choudhary, by lighting a lamp. The program is being organized jointly by the Beapard Gaya, Pride (Lok Sabha), and Bihar Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
Addressing the program, the Chief Minister said, "A capable MLA and a strong Legislative Assembly are the foundation of a prosperous Bihar." He stated that the success of democracy depends on the competence, accountability, and commitment of public representatives to public service.
The Chief Minister said that the MLAs have been sent to the Assembly with the trust and expectations of the people. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every MLA to raise the issues of their constituency, the expectations of the people, and development-related issues in the House with full preparation, facts, and a positive attitude. He requested all members to thoroughly study the business, rules, and parliamentary traditions of the Assembly so that they can make democratic institutions more effective.
The Chief Minister said that for the strengthening of democracy, both the ruling party and the opposition must play a constructive and positive role. Healthy dialogue, meaningful discussion, and a sense of prioritizing public interests enhance the dignity of the Assembly and give a new impetus to the development of the state. He said that during the Assembly session, they should give maximum time to the House.
The Chief Minister said that to fulfill the dreams of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's developed India and former Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar's prosperous Bihar, all public representatives will have to work together. He said that ensuring the benefits of the government's public welfare schemes reach the last person in society is not only the responsibility of the government but also of every public representative.
The Chief Minister emphasized the use of new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to make the functioning of the Assembly more modern, transparent, and effective. He said that in Bihar, development is being given a new direction through the PPP model, by speeding up bus stand, township, and other infrastructure projects.
The Chief Minister said that the government is running a 'Sahayog' program. I request all of you to play an active role in it. With your active participation, people will get justice and better services.
The Chief Minister, while mentioning the state government's historic initiative in the field of education, said that from July 15, 213 new degree colleges will be started in different blocks of the state.
He said that this initiative will prove to be an important and historic step towards the expansion of higher education, providing quality higher education to youth in their areas, and building a prosperous Bihar. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the two-day awareness program held at Gaya will provide important guidance to the newly elected MLAs to further strengthen their parliamentary traditions, legislative responsibilities, and sense of public service, and will prove to be a milestone in the construction of a capable MLA, a strong Assembly, and a prosperous Bihar.
